They're alright

Hotdogs are big part of the summer diet in my household and I often try to find somewhat healthier alternatives for my family if I can. So, I thought it would be great to try these Butterball Turkey Franks for free in return for my honest review. After trying them out all I can say is that they are just an ok hotdog. To be honest, the flavour is pretty bland. It doesn't really have the classic kind of savoury hotdog taste. It's not exactly bad, just not great either. Definitely not memorable. I had to load mine up with all the toppings just to get some flavour going. On their own, they're pretty disappointing. The texture isn't really my cup of tea either. They're a bit on the softer side and they don't get that satisfying snap when you bite into them. We grilled and pan fried them and they still ended up kind of mushy. They do cook up quickly, which is plus if you're in a hurry but so do normal hotdogs so that's not really a big plus. Overall, they're not terrible, and for the price, I guess you get what you pay for. They get the job done, but that is about it - Product gifted by Butterball Canada.

Butterball Turkey Franks

We recently grilled up a pack of these turkey franks from Butterball, and had a great time! This was my first time trying a turkey hot dog, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but they bbq'd up just like our favourite weiners. There really wasn't much difference, that is, I wouldn't have known it was a turkey frank if you didn't tell me! Overall, I would give these franks a 7/10 for flavour!

Decent

We tried this package of Butterball Turkey Franks today at a family BBQ. Everyone liked them but said they'd had better as well. They were surprised they were turkey franks. Some said they'd buy them and recommend them but it depends on cost and ingredients.

Kinda cool butterball hotdogs

Got it free.pretty decent just not my go to i miss the lack of fat flavour that my family is used to but good otherwise.especially if you like butterball stuff.

A healthier alternative

I was given the opportunity to try Butterball's hot dogs in exchange to my honest review. I took them to a cottage weekend and we roasted them over the fire. I was able to get a variety of opinions.

One child loved them and preferred them to our regular brand of hot dogs. My other child did not like them. While the adults all appreciated that the turkey hot dogs were healthier, none of us preferred the taste. The texture was good though.

I honestly personally didn't mind them and would probably buy these because they are healthier but I would need to get the rest of my family to agree first.

Great Healthy option!

I tested out Butterball Turkey Franks and they are delicious!  I was happy that the texture and flavour mimicked that of a hotdog and didn't lack in flavour.  I am very happy that the franks are also gluten free!  I would recommend these franks as a great alternative and healthier option for regular hot dogs.  I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review.

No taste.

I didn't like these franks much. I felt that they had no taste. I grilled them on the Barbeque and had it on a bun with onion and ketchup. I couldn't finish it. I wouldn't recommend.

Texture was Different

I really wanted to enjoy these but I couldn't get past the texture. I found they started extra dense even after being quicky boiled before bbqing. My kids are them with no issues so that's great! But im not sure id spend the extra on it.

Tasty but not my favourite

These Butterball Turkey franks taste like regular hotdogs with less fat and are lactose free and gluten free. They are also a good source of protein. I do still prefer all beef hotdogs, but it’s nice for a change once in awhile. They are juicy and quite large. Although for the price, you only get 8 in a package. With my big family it’s not really enough.

Not too bad

These turkey franks were not too bad. They weren't extremely small, so when I cooked them, they didn't shrink any smaller. Taste-wise, they weren't overpowering with the turkey taste. I made them in the oven and also on the grill, and I would recommend grilling them as the smoky flavour enhances the taste. I do prefer my all-beef franks better, but for anyone who doesn't eat beef or pork with these turkey franks, I can assure you that you aren't missing out. Overall, I'd give them a 6/10 because the price, size, and value are worth it.
