More floral smelling

Very happy to receive the Clean Reserve H2EAU perfume in Golden Citrus for free. I’m a big fan of citrus smelling products so I was looking forward to trying this perfume. I was surprised when I put it on and was immediately hit with a wave of floral right off the bat. It unfortunately overpowered the citrus so it pulls through second and is not as forward as I would have liked or expected this perfume to be. The scent lasted all day but if I was to go out for the evening I would have to reapply. I also picked up on the clean ocean scent and that was pleasant and definitely compliments the citrus. I found the perfume very gentle on my skin being that this is a water based product and although the mandarin oil felt a bit too oily on my skin it definitely made it soft. I also really liked that this came in a roll on as it made for fast and easy application. The twist on lid has a nice tight seal so there is no worry of leaking and I also like the convenient size of the bottle for throwing in your purse as well.

Good but could be better

For starters, I love the size and applicator of the sample provided. Roll ons are one of my favourite perfume applicators. It makes sure you are not wasting the product and can concentrate it in certain areas where you want the smell to be the strongest.

This product is long lasting and a little goes a long way which I really appreciate. My first impression was not the greatest as I added way to much product and it was very over powering and smelt like citrus dish soap to me. But once some of the product wore off, the scent it left was actually really nice. The subsequent times I used the product I did not apply nearly as much and it smelt so much better. It’s really important not to overdo it with this because it can go from a really nice clean smelling citrus to overpowering dish soap really quickly.

Once the right amount of product is applied, it smells wonderful and lasts all day! I am going to take it on my upcoming trip with me. Since a little goes a long way, I can also see this lasting a really long time which I can appreciate.

Fruity with a hint of household cleaner

I like how this smells when it's initially applied to the skin - light and fruity and citrusy. I think I would love this smell in the summer. However, the longer it stays on my skin, the more I think it smells like laundry detergent or household cleaner. Not too bad overall, it doesn't work for me but it might work for you!

Strong after scent

It's a nice perfume but the citrus smell I could only notice it when first applied after a couple minutes it's a very strong cologne sent. A bit to stong for my liking.

LAUNDRY DETERGENT NOT CITRUS

I’m no stranger to Clean Beauty Collective -Every time I step foot into a Sephora, my little legs RUN over to smell Sparkling Sugar from their Clean Reserve collection.

They’ve just introduced their new collection, the Clean Reserve H2EAU - an eco-conscious & sustainable collection inspired by water! Water is the most gentle ingredient Mother Nature has to offer. This fragrance collection is created water-based (instead of oil based)! Meant to be long lasting, hydrating and gentle to your skin!

After reading the reviews, I was super excited! I absolutely adore citrus notes in fragrances - something about citrus makes me feel ‘cleaner’, ‘fresher’, & all around uplifted. My hopes were so so so HIGH!

Upon opening the package, I noticed it was a rollerball - I personally prefer sprays (mostly because my skin sometimes gets upset when I apply roller balls directly on my skin) - BUT, knowing the water-based formula, I was excited to see if I had a reaction or not! I was super happy to see that my skin didn’t react negatively to the application (woot woot!), and I loved the scent once I opened the package. If you love the smell of clean laundry just out of the washer, this is your scent!

It broke my heart to notice that my skin chemistry did not allow the scent to fully shine - while I had no negative reaction skin wise, the scent didn’t react well to my PH (which can happen, fragrance smells differently on everyone!).

This reminds me of Maison Margiela’s Replica collection - authentic & true. Had this been named ‘Saturday Morning Linen’ - it would have matched so much! I didn’t get citrus from this - I honestly thought this reminded me more of laundry detergent than citrus - a STUNNING linen fragrance.

The scent is not good

Golden citrus, I was expecting oranges or lemons but this just smells like laundry soap. And not a good one either. Super unfortunate because I love how compact this is. Perfect for the purse or diaper bag for a quick refresh. I also love that it’s a roll on. Makes it very easy to apply without it going everywhere else ! The scent is just horrible.

Smells a bit like household cleaner

I've always really liked Clean Reserve perfumes for the fact that they have a lot of scent options and they are labelled as a "Clean at Sephora" product, and are also cruelty-free, and made without phthalates and parabens. Unfortunately, the H2EAU Golden Citrus was a bit of a miss for me. The key notes seemed really promising - Mandarin, Orange Blossom, and Musk, but I must say that it really smells like a household cleaner. I thought that it would face, but unfortunately the smell lingered.

Like most Clean Reserve perfumes, I do enjoy that they have longevity and are layarable with other scents! I really like the packaging of the smaller travel-sized version of this perfume with a roller ball - it makes it really easy to travel with or to keep in your purse for re-application throughout the day!

love it but also hate it?

This perfume was 50/50 for me- I loved the fresh citrus scent but the more I smelt it the more it smells like laundry detergent. It is the perfect summer scent though, I just think the citrus scent is too scent and it lingers into cleaning products scent. But if you’re a girly who loves citrus scents then this perfume is for you!

Smells like clean laundry

The ball tip makes it really easy to apply the perfume in many different places and evenly. It smells like linens or clean laundry with a hint of citrus. The scent lasts hours too! Based on the name I was expecting a bit more citrus.

Mature Citrus Floral Scent

Clean Reserve’s Golden Citrus is a musky fresh citrus and floral scent. Even though this scent wasn’t for me it smelled very nicely on a friend of mine. When it dried down on my skin it was too strong for my liking . The smell is refreshing with a warm almost nostalgic mature fragrance. It’s long wearing and evenly distributes the product with a roller ball application. I do find this is more of a stronger more mature scent, keep that in mind. If you’re in the market for a new spring fresh floral scent, I would try this one out!
