I got this as a gift from Suzie in a giveaway, but I had been eying buying it for a while.
First, I love shea butter. Like.. LOVE IT. I have since found that coconut oil is much better as a body moisturizer, but it doesn't absorb as wonderfully as shea butter
This L'Occitane is not exactly organic or very natural, but it is effective without being greasy and it works.
A little dab from a paint tube-like packaging, and it's enough to cover both of my hands.
The dryness disappears instantly, it smells like a fragranced baby's bottom (I like the soft smell) and the texture and spread is very nice. It absorbs nicely, blends into your skin quickly and feels good.
I'd consider buying a tube of this once it runs out, or trying out another product everyone's been raving about -- Aveeno's Hand Cream -- for about $9 CAD.
I recieved this cream as a gift. If you looked at my hands you would think that they belonged to a much much older woman. Very dry, with cracks - so dry that it bleeds especially in the winter time. I've tried a lot of lotions - Kiehls, Aveda, Jo Malone and I have to say that this is the best out of all of them. Yes it does smell like something that you put on a baby - but I actually find that scent very pleasing and calming. It's so effective that my hands no longer bleed from the dryness.
Currently have a tube of this on my desk at work. Leaves my hands super smooth but the smell reminds me a little too much of a babys bum.
If you have dry/cracked hands, and can handle the smell of infants bottoms, this cream is definitely for you!
This cream is amazingly moisturizing but pricey. It’s heavy in consistency and bit greasy. Great for a cold day if you’re outside for several hours. The bottle is also prone to creasing and breaking and causing cream to come out the crack. It works very well but the price is too much. Other creams work well too.
I'm always searching for a hand cream that is moisturizing, long lasting, and not sticky or greasy and I've finally found it! L'Occitane Dry Skin Hand Cream is 20% Shea butter so it's very moisturizing and long-lasting but doesn't leave your hands feeling sticky or greasy. Added bonus is that it has a nice soft scent.
The BEST cream to get you through the dry winter months. Smells great and soothes all those cracks caused by the harsh cold weather. Can feel the difference with just one application.
This product was an absolute life saver for me and my skin. A few years ago I got a terrible allergic reaction (or at least that's what the technical term was - I'd like to call it 'the devil set-up camp on my face'). I had a rash that started out small and flared out all over my body. My face, my neck, my shoulders and my arms were nothing to be proud of.
This ultimately led me on a journey, searching for the best face cream/wash that wouldn't irritate my skin and help restore it back to normal. After using several, and I mean SEVERAL, face creams/washes I finally came across L'Occitane and the best thing in the world, shea butter. It was the only cream I found that wouldn't sting when I put it on my face or body and actually helped to build back my skins natural moisture. They have a small pot for $10 of pure shea butter that is also great for your lips and cuticles.
If you're a first time buyer and have really sensitive skin, I suggest purchasing the 'Shea Butter Essentials' as well as the 'Mini Pure Shea Butter' for your lips (I can almost guarantee that you won't use any other type of lip moisturizer again since this is a purely natural line and doesn't make your lips addicted to it.)
NOTE** For a face wash I actually used 'Aloette Gentle Foaming Cleanser' (http://www.aloette.com/Skin_Care/Cleansers_and_Toners/Gentle_Foaming_Cleanser). The combo of Aloette and L'Occitane is amazing!
I hope this helps any woman that is suffering with sensitive skin right now and feels that there's no end in sight. Keep at it and you'll find what's ultimately right for you and your skin.
I agree with the previous reviewer that this hand cream works really well. It's intensely moisturizing so if you have dry hobbit hands like mine, it's a great item to keep in your bag. What I am not wild about is the smell. There is something in it that reminds me of zincofax for babies bums from when I was little. I like my lotions to smell like vanilla or lemon or cotton candy.
Despite the smell, the cream is amazing.
I have tried many hand creams, but this hand cream has to be the best. It is great for dry skin especially in cold winters in Canada. I carry the 150ml tube in my purse. I do not like hand creams with strong scents. Some people may find the the price too expensive, but once you try it you will not be disappointed. Whenever I pull it out of my purse everyone has their hands out for some. Enjoy.
Fantastic! Completely moisturizes for hours without leaving any greasiness behind. Even my mom who has extremely dry hands and has tried almost every product on the market swears by this hand cream. It's a large tube and lasts forever. I use it every morning and night before bed and find that I never have to reapply throughout the day to keep the dryness away.
