Lost In the Sauce - Bodhi Sauce Reviews
#2 in Sauces

Description

Bodhi (pronounced boh-thee, sanskrit for awakening or enlightenment, in this case awakening your tastebuds) is a South Asian sweet chili heat. Think tamarind sauce for samosas but elevated and with no tamarind. Pair it on red meats, wings, paneer, burgers, and our personal favourite, eggs. Starts off sweet, then tangy, then kick at the end.

    Adds to flavour

I used BODHI hot sauce to upgrade my sandwich and it’s just what I needed to make it better. What I like is that it doesn’t overpower just adds the right flavour. It’s sweet, tangy and has a bit of kick and so versatile. I have been using it for my sandwich, as a dip and even for my salads.

Sweet and tangy with a light kick

I used the Bodhi hot sauce on my chicken and rice. I’m Indonesian so I usually eat meals with sambal, so I like a stronger upfront spice.
This one starts sweet and slightly tangy, then the heat comes at the end. It’s not very spicy but still flavourful and easy to enjoy.
I personally prefer their Amma’s Malaysian Sambal because it has a bolder kick, but this sauce would be great for people who want a milder heat or are new to hot sauces.
I also like that it’s a small Toronto-based Canadian brand.
