    I am always on the lookout for new mascaras, especially ones that provide volume. Maybelline's new Falsies Volum' Express promised to deliver up to eight times the volume, with its pro-keratin fibre forumla made to fill in the gaps between lashes. Unfortunately, this mascara failed to live up to the hype. All it did was cover my eyelashes to make them darker... and that was it. It did not lengthen them, and there was not even a hint of volume. I suspect that the formula is dilated to avoid clumping of the eyelashes, but that means it will detract from the volume, which is what the product is all about (the thicker the product, the more volume for eyelashes). There was no "false lash" effect, and nothing that a regular mascara could not offer.

    For all the claims, this is just another mascara. To get any length you have to use 3 coats and then you are dealing with a clumpy mess. For a day look it is fine, thickens and they look slightly longer, but for night, if you want the false lashes look.... I recommend the real things.

    Picked this up on super sale at Shopper's Drug Mart for $3.99. Cheaper than my usual mascara, so I thought I'd at least try it out.

    Not bad mascara, but it is average. I had to use about 3 coats to get the look I desired, even though it does have a lot of pigment. I must admit it didn't clump up on me in the process, though there wasn't a lot of length or volume to be seen. There are other mascaras out there with "spoon" or curved brushes that perform the same at a lesser price. There is no new technology here.

    Really, my issue is with the advertising and the name. Falsies? Hardly. If you mean the model is wearing false eye lashes, then okay, I believe you. Maybelline isn't the only company who pulls this stunt, but because it decided to name this mascara so wrongly, I say this:

    Maybelline = FALSE.

    I'm very brand loyal when it comes to mascara and have an arsenal of tried and true items which I love...but once in awhile blog chatter will have me coveting something new...in this case, Maybelline's new Falsies masaca. There had been a lot of positive reviews of late in the blogsosphere so I thought I'd give it a shot...my mistake. Don't believe the hype! This mascara certainly doe not give one the "false lashes" look....if anything, it gave me a totally natural lash...no volume, no lengthening...nada. Save your dough and stick with what you love already. This is a big pass for me.
