Metro's in-house bakery Italian bread: This loaf is priced higher than other grocery stores' bakery products, but not as high as a speciality bakery, and I'd say the same about the quality. It is best at its freshest, on the same day as it is baked, because it dries out quickly. Metro offers its baked goods for sale the day after, at a discount, which is a noticeable savings, but the bread does suffer from lack of freshness. Unless your budget is extremely tight, I'd say the Metro brand Italian bread is worth the extra money.
