Pricey pencil but so luxurious and pigmented. Stays on for a pretty long time. It goes on smoothly. I have this in the color 'Cruella' which is a nice red, not too bright. I liked it so much that I bought it in the color Damned too which is a deeper red, more berry like.

I love Nars Matte Lip Pencils! My favourite colour so far is Pop Life (bright, poppy-hued red). The formula is really rich, albeit a bit drying, and super matte. Before applying I try to exfoliate my lips a bit with a soft toothbrush so it doesn't end up looking messy. If you are at all a novice when it comes to applying lipstick, a lip pencil allows for more exact application and doesn't slip around. In other words, if you often apply lipstick and find that your lip line looks uneven, but the thought of lining your lips first makes you kind of shudder, this is the right product for you. It lasts fairly long as well, though won't last through a meal without giving you that clownish ring where it's rubbed off on the inside of your lip but not the outer rim.

Bottom line: If you're looking for a matte lip colour this one is excellent. The coverage is opaque as well so your lips will look like the colour of the pencil.

Nars Matte Lip Pencils come in large sizes and you have to buy a specially sized sharpener to keep the point sharp! It is really costly, but I have been using the same color, Dragon, for years. No other matte lip liner compares. I use it as a matte lipstick and the results look amazing, precise, and last all day. Only downside is it dries out your lips if you keep it on all day. Still, you can't beat the low-key glamor of matte lips!
