I am 28 years old, with severe dental problems. I have had my fair share of both manual and electric toothbrushes and this one was not what I expected - in a good way! Upon opening it, I first notice how slimline it is! very good. Next thing though, was the very plain bristled head. looks the same as your run of the mill dollar store tooth brush head. Not impressive at all. So after reading the instructions, and still being skeptical, I gave it a shot. The vibration was tenfold that of a regular battery operated toothbrush. Ok kudos! the gentle vibrations were soothing on my gums and left my lips feeling tingly! ( I like this toothbrush) but I was left thinking "can this brush really do all the things it claims to do?" I used it the same way I use my ordinary toothbrush, the gentle 'pause' helped me remember to move to another quadrant which is perhaps the most useful feature, bcuz I never brush for 2 minutes! So although it didnt FEEL like it was doing a better job, I think maybe it was doing a LONGER job - hence a better clean in the end! I love the fact it clips in the base and the base can mount on the wall (amazing feature when you have 4 kids in your house!) the dual speeds did what they promised - one was stronger then the other!
the ONLY drawback for me, is the back of the toothbrush head, being hard plastic, does vibrate against the other palate of teeth while brushing. And that is a jarring feeling!! (it knocks against my bottom ones while brushing the top ones, and vice versa) AND the replacement heads were $30! for 3 plain old brush heads & 1 special head. So is it worth it? would I but this again? I personally, say no, only because I cannot justify spending $90 (superstore, steinbach, manitoba) on a toothbrush when I have 4 children to provide for, but I LOVED the job it did and I am thankful to chickadvisor for the opportunity! the cost alone would have prevented me from using this.
Thank you ChickAdvisor for giving me an opportunity to try the Oral-B Pulsonic Power Toothbrush! Let me start by saying I haven't ever used an "electric" toothbrush before so this was my first experiece...and I LOVE it! I will never go back to manual brushing again, seriously. I could really feel the difference by how my teeth felt and looked. I saw a difference after only a few uses. I have sensitive teeth and was worried about how my teeth might feel after using this brush but let me say that I haven't had one issue...in fact, I've felt an improvement in my sensitivity. I will continue using this toothbrush and would recommend this to my friends/family.
My favourite feature of the Oral-B Pulsonic Power Toothbrush is the slim design, it's fantastic! I found because of this design that I could reach more surface area of my teeth that I wouldn't normally be able to reach with a regular manual or electric toothbrush. This brush pulses instead of having a rotating brush like other electric toothbrushes that I've tried so at first it was almost a little ticklish but it didn't take long to get used to it. This is very user friendly with built in timers that help remind you when you've brushed for the recommended time and two modes of use which are clean and sensitive so everyone can use it. It plugs in and charges overnight, I do wish you could charge this with batteries instead so that you didn't have to have the wire across your bathroom counter but that isn't enough of a drawback for me to not use it. I've found that since using it my teeth seem a little whiter and I feel like I've just left the dentist with how polished my teeth feel. I will keep using this product and I would recommend it to family and friends. Thanks Chickadvisor for the opportunity!
I love this toothbrush; I had never purchased a electric toothbrush preferring to use my manual brush. I honestly didn't think an electric toothbrush was better than a manual one but boy was I wrong. This toothbrush got my teeth so clean that I felt as though I had been to the dentist as well the vibrations helped me to brush for the proper amount of time to ensure my teeth were really clean. I love that the head is small and allows easy access to the back of the mouth; I have a small mouth and found other brushes to be hard to use.
While I consider this toothbrush to be quite expensive it works wonderfully and can save on and improve dental visits. To purchase extra heads are not that expensive (around 25.00) for three heads and a precision tip.
I'm going to purchase one for my husband and wish they had one for kids. Would make a great holiday gift !
Thank you Chick Advisor for giving me the opportunity to try out the new power toothbrush…I really appreciate it!
My overall experience: I like hot the toothbrush is somewhat compact, so that if I were to go away on trip for a couple of days, I can carry it with me. It was extremely easy to use (press once to turn it to a regular vibration mode, press it again for the sensitive mode). Setting it up was simple as pie as well, for I didn’t have to assemble anything really. What I really liked about the toothbrush was the pause in between vibrations so you can move to the “next side”…it enables me to have a more effective “brushing session.” I like how the vibrations help with cleaning my teeth more effectively that just brushing alone, which brings me to the question of how this product’s performance compares to my usual toothbrush. It offers a more effective way of brushing than just a manual toothbrush. I feel as if the OralB toothbrush removes more plaque than its counterpart.
I would definitely consider this product in the future to someone else. Since Christmas is around the corner, this would be a great gift for someone this coming holiday. If not, I will definitely recommend this to a friend.
Thanks again!
I will start off by saying I am not an electric toothbrush kinda girl. The metal they are made of is usually heavy, and you can hit your front and side teeth reaching to clean your back teeth. That being said, I may reconsider my stance after using the Oral B Pulsonic. It really does a wonderful job cleaning your teeth, and I have to admit it's actually more gentle on my teeth and gums than I am with my regular manual brush. The timer is a cool addition, although I usually brush my teeth longer than two minutes, it's nice to be able to track how long you have been brushing and in which areas. Other perks to this product are the fact that it's lightweight and the vibration is not overpowering like some other electric toothbrushes. I am curious to see how my teeth will look and feel with longer use, because so far I am pleased with the results.
Thank you ChickAdvisor! I had the wonderful opportunity to test this new Oral-B Pulsonic electric toothbrush and give my opinion. I have tried other electric toothbrushes in the past and they honestly are not even a close comparison to this product. This toothbrush was as close that I have ever come to having a dental cleaning of my teeth without going to the dentist. They warned of bleeding gums for the first little bit, however I did not experience this. The 2 settings, clean for teeth, and sensitive for your gums and tongue are an awesome feature. I love the size of the brush head, it was extremely easy to get to the "hard to reach" places. The price point is higher than the Colgate toothbrush that you have to replace batteries in however like I mentioned earlier you honestly do get what you pay for. I found the price of this product very reasonable and I think it would pay for itself in less visits to the dentist. It also comes with a precision brush head which is an awesome feature. It came fully charged and ready to use which was also very convenient. I would HIGHLY recommend this Oral-B pulsonic toothbrush to everyone and I will certainly be giving it as a gift. Thank you once again ChickAdvisor for this awesome opportunity!
I've been using the Oral B Pulsonic since I received it through the product review club. (I was using the Oral B BrAun and previous to that a manual toothbrush.)
Benefits:
- Easy to Use
- 2 speed settings
- Cleans better than a manual toothbrush
- retains charge for a long time without being plugged in.
- Brush head is the same as a manual brush if that's what you like!(Most electric toothbrushes have a round head like the dentist)
- Nice slim design
- Precision tip an excellent addition.
- Kept teeth white
- Reduced plaque
Downside:
- I could only use it on the sensitive setting even though I don't have sensitive teeth or sensitive areas. The "Clean" setting was just too powerful.
- The brush head is the same as a manual brush, I prefer the little round head on an electric toothbrush
- Doesn't reach back teeth as well as the BrAun.
I have been using this brush instead of my usual electric toothbrush and I have to say that though it is a very good toothbrush and does a much better job than a manual brush at cleaning, I still prefer my Oral B BrAun because I can use it on a stronger setting and it's smaller brush head helps me reach the back of my teeth a little easier. That said, I will continue to use the Pulsonic for the precision tip, it does a great job and I'm really impressed with that particular feature!
So to be part of Chick Advisor means some great opportunities and a vast array of information. The perks keep getting better and by that I mean having the opportunity to review the Oral-B Pulsonic Power Tooth Brush.
I was always a manual tooth brush user for obvious reasons its cheap,I've used it for years and well the dentist always gave me a free tooth brush after every cleaning. So why not use it.
After using the Oral-B Pulsonic tooth brush for a few weeks I can say I'm convinced that the manual tooth brush pales in comparison when it comes to cleanliness and effective use of your brushing time.
After the first brushing with the Oral-B Pulsonic I noticed how smooth and how much I could feel the spaces between my teeth. Yeah the plaque was being pulsed out of the nooks and cranny's of my teeth. WOW I never knew how much was left behind all those years brushing with the manual tooth brushes.
My last dentist visit(s) (YUP visits it took two to clean my teeth, they were that bad) I was told I have tartar, it was plain to see, I could see it myself ! With that comes swollen and red gums. They hurt and yes I cried a little.
Today I can say I eagerly await my next dentist appointment. I want to hear what my hygienist thinks of my teeth and gum health. I can already tell that the Oral-B Pulsonic brushes better and removes more plaque but it also massages the gums!
I would highly recommend the Oral-B Pulsonic, yes it is more expensive but you could ask for it for a present for the holidays maybe. If you care about having a healthy mouth its a worthwhile investment. Lets face it most of us girls spend a tone of our cash on cosmetics and they are not cheap either.
So if I don't convince you this is a great tooth brush maybe the other positive reviews will. I'm not just saying this because I was given this for free it truly is how I feel about this product and I would say this even if I paid for it. In fact I will be buying new heads for this when the one I have needs replacement. My old manual tooth brush is now being used to clean the grout in the tile LOL. (hey it works)
This is a great little toothbrush! They sure have come a long way over the past few years. I have a Sonicare toothbrush and a manual toothbrush and this one bridges the gap nicely.
I like the slim design and gentle vibration it provides. Even with my sensitive teeth it wasn't too strong on the normal setting. The battery charge has lasted a long time and the brush head is nice and small. It is also more quiet than my Sonicare and doesn't make my nose itch when I use it!
I can't comment on whether it whitened my teeth but they definitely felt clean. The first time I used it they were literally squeaky clean! I'm definitely happy to keep using this toothbrush.
