I love Urban Decay's products! This product is great for making your eyeshadows as well as eyeliners last! It goes on smooth and is super easy to apply. It's a definite must for individuals who use a lot of eyeshadow, but I find it great even though I usually go minimal to black-shadowed eyes.

This is about the same color as MAC's creme royale, which I have taken to wearing over it as the primer potion by itself is not all that wearable. Otherwise, it works almost exactly like the original UDPP. The problem with the packaging is still the same, lots of product gets stuck where the wand simply cannot reach, so there is an eventual need for depotting (there are tutorials on youtube, this is not hard but it is annoying).
Altogether, this is a good buy for any UDPP addicts like myself, but if you're looking into this for the first time the original is much more usable as you can put any shadow over it, mattes or otherwise.

I have to say first of all that I absolutely am in love with Urban Decay. It's the only super expensive make up I'll buy. When the primer potion came with my first set of eye shadows I thought it sounded pretty silly. I love Urban Decay eyeshadow but it doesn't like to stay on me and uncreased for any longer than 3 hours. So I decided to give the primer potion a try. WOW! I woke up at 5am did my make up and went to school and came home later on at 6pm and my eyeshadow was still on perfectly! I was so blown away! I have never had an eyeshadow last that long before. I use it everyday so I can have the perfect eyeshadow that stays perfect all day! :]

I bought this because of all the hype. I don't have oily lids so i don't really need a primer that keeps my shadows in place....so i can't comment on it's ability to keep oilies at bay. I use it more to make sure eyeshadows, especially powder ones...stick to my lid. This does work to a certain extend. The shadow really stickers, it does make the color more vibrant but i feel that there are better alternatives. It does an okay job, not the greatest. I do reach for it every so often. I also use a lot of shadows so this doesn't work as well as my other bases (Paintpot, paint etc)....but i do recommend this for oiler lids - even if it's under the paintpot....or for individuals that like the more neutral look and uses less shadow...i don't know if i'll repurchase, but i do want to try the udpp sin..where it has color.

This is a great primer if you have oily lids. It keeps shadow in place and from creasing all day. The only downside is the packaging, which leave a lot of product behind if you don't cut it open. This is great for matte & pressed shadows.

I don't hate this product but I'm not head over heals for it either. I guess I would give it a meh if someone asked me about it. Like most of the reviews on this product the bottle design is cute but not practical. I find because I don't have oily eyelids this product really dries out my eyelids which causes me to itch them after I've finished applying my eyeshadow which defeats the purpose of the primer in the first place. However if you have oily eyelids then this product is great for you. I also don't like that once it dries it has a tacky feeling to it.

Despite all of that it is a good product that does what it says it will. I just don't think I will buy it again because I like a base that is more creamy and fills in any lines I have on my lids which this one doesn't do.

Absolutely great consistency, and it works!
Pros - makes shadows appear more vibrant and last longer (especially when you need your makeup to last all day, or in the humidity of summer)
Cons - wish it was a bit cheaper, and as much as i love the design of the container, it is not very practical (a lot of the product gets stuck and is not accessible)

Sorry to the ladies that LOVE this product but....its really nothing special. I definitley DO like this product its just I dont see what all the fuss is about. The primer potion makes a good base, I like the consistency and how it blends the only thing is it seemed to dry out my lids and sometimes would get on my lashes (really hate when it gets on my lashes!) Anyways overall its a good base but I believe there are better ones out there! Also I love the packaging...its super cute but not very practical.

*Price: I give this a 4/5 stars because it is a bit pricey but if you have issues with oily lids, creasing, or if you use drugstore brands where the color payoff isn't as good, it is worth the price.

*Quality: I give this a 4/5 because it goes on smooth and dries quickly. Also, it's gorgeous packaging albiet, not practical at all (I'm sure you've read all the other reviews about all that's leftover inside the bottle because of the shape).

*Effectiveness: I give this a 4/5 stars because it does do a good job at offering a better color payoff and staying power for all eyeshadows (especially drugstore brands). It also does significantly reduce eyeshadow creasing.

-Extra notes: Although I say it doesn't totally eliminate my eyelid creasing issue (I have very oily eyelids) it is worth it. Trust me, I've tried everything. From other eyeshadow primers, to concealer, to eyeliner, to cream color bases, to powder, to just about anything and everything you can possibly think of. This is the best out of everything I've tried.

This is an excellent eyeshadow primer that helps eyeshadow from creasing and fading all day so no touch-ups are needed!
