SMELLS GOOD

I loved testing this candle, which I received free of charge. It smells divinely woody, inspiring grounding and connection to nature. I loved the base notes of vanilla, warm amber and musk.

Favourite collection so far

I absolutely love the look of the studio collection jars. It’s sleek, a great size and it’s aesthetically pleasing for any space (kitchen, office, bedroom). Long lasting, the melted wax doesn’t pool around the wick like other soy candles I’ve tried. Love the brand, but giving this 3 stars because I didn’t love the scent. It’s nice, earthy, woodsy, but I personally prefer more sweet smells (lemon, vanilla, floral) this scent would be perfect for the fall and winter and makes a great gift idea!

Strong scents that last

Yankee Candle has truly surprised me with its long lasting and strong scent. The freshness of the candle fills a room with new warmth and changes the atmosphere completely. Very grateful I tried this product.

Smells like the deep outdoors!

I love the balsam and cedar scent of this candle - it reminds me of Christmas and the deep winter forest. The glass jar is super cute and once the candle burns, I can use it for little knick knacks. The smell is strong so a little goes a long way!

Yankee Candle Balsam & Cedar

I recently received Yankee Candle Balsam & Cedar candle to try, in exchange for my honest review.

I love the curved look of the glass. It is elegant and sleek and will go with any decor, in any room.

The Balsam & Cedar scent is beautiful and is not over powering like other woody scents are. This scent makes me feel like I am in a forest when this candle is near me. I love it because I am a nature lover!

I love this candle and recommend it to anyone who wants a to add a soft ambiance to their room, with a beautiful scent.

Mood maker

If you want to change the mood, reach for a candle. They soften the light, quiet the noise, and evoke memories with their scent. 


It doesn't have to be a special occasion, or an elaborate set up. A candle can be wonderful with reading a book and a cup of tea, on the table of a romantic dinner, to bring notes of joy to a party, to bring back happy memories to a pizza and game night, and to bring just the right amount of light and comfort when cuddling to watch movies.


The Balsam + Cedar Essential Oils candle from Yankee Candle was a wonderful way to have an early father's day afternoon with my dad, bringing back memories of summer camping trips growing up. It set the tone for some great stories and laughs, mostly at my expense lol!


The candle is in a beautiful deep green glass jar, that fits perfectly with my mantle decor, and would look as good on a table top.

It is a bit heady, and it fills up a nice size room easily, so unless I am in the mood to reminisce, I would save it for cooler times.

House Staple

I have always been a huge fan of Yankee Candles. Growing up in the states, Yankee Candles were everywhere and were essentially a staple. If you needed a candle, and nicely scented one at that, it was always the go-to.

I will say at first glance, the scent was incredibly over-powering out of the box. But once I got used to it, the scent was actually quite pleasant. I didn’t the think the scent would be so apparent without even lighting the candle - goes to show how long it’s been since I’ve lit a scented candle, especially with a toddler running around the house.

Balsam & Cedar is actually quite a pleasant scent, especially if you have a love of trees and Christmas. It’s got a very nice cedar, Christmas-y fragrance, with a small hint of citrus, unless I’m just thinking that up in my head.

Back in the day - which just makes me sound old cuz I’m remembering back to the early 2000’s, Yankee Candles had a very specific look to them with a glass cap. These are open candles without any closures which makes for a very sleek modern and unique coloured glass jar to match the dark green coloured candle. I would say the only thing about this candle that left me disappointed was the lack of a closure - for the sake my nostalgia, and the potential dust that could cover it over time if I didn’t finish using the candle in time.

Clean home and Yankee candle

There’s something about a clean home and the right scent that just transforms your space. I lit the Balsam & Cedar candle by Yankee Candle after tidying up, and it instantly filled the room with that fresh, woodsy calm. It’s grounding, cozy, and feels like a warm hug from nature. A true staple in my home routine now. Thank you, Yankee Candle, for creating scents that feel like home.
