Cafes Reviews

A café requires just one thing to win our hearts: truly decadent coffee.  We've come across our fair share of snooty décor, name-dropping baristas, and lack of seating space, but all is forgiven when we're handed our immaculately brewed Americano or Soy Chai Latte - whichever's your preference.  The search for the next must-stop java joint is an urbanista's favourite pastime... and when we can find one that also serves a great lunch, well you had us at Bonjour!

In Toronto, we're partial to The Sandwich Box, Le Gourmand, and Sense Appeal Coffee Roasters.  Which is your favourite?

HoJoes Coffee and Books

1 review

HoJoes is awesome. Great coffee, teas and deserts. The staff is very really friendly. You can sit there and listen to local music talent on their music nights and hop into your own world via the WiFi connection. The deserts are really good and every time I have been there fresh...
Caribou Coffee-Iced Latte

1 review

Had the pleasure of having one of the new lite drinks that Caribou Coffee is offering now. I had the Iced Lite white vanilla mocha with Soy milk. The texture was perfect and not to sweet. I think that the coy mild ups the taste just a tad other than the dairy milk. Will...
Balzacs Coffee Roastery - Liberty Village

1 review

Balzacs has been a favourite coffee chain of mine for a long time. The lattes are delicious and they always have a nice assortment of snacks. I also appreciate the punch card since I'm there so often. The Liberty Village location has a more modern decor than the old...

My friends and I went to Mirage last weekend for a Christmas get together! We arrived around 12:30 in the afternoon and received great service from the get go! Our waitress was attentive and engaging! While I ordered breakfast some of the other girls ordered roast beef...
Vosges Haut Chocolat

1 review

This tiny chocolate cafe/boutique makes the most amazing chocolate drinks. They have a large selection of truffles, chocolate covered marshmallows, chocolate tortilla chips and chocolate covered nuts, but I went for a nice tall hot glass of Aztec Elixir Drinking Couture Cocoa...

Starbucks Cafe

1 review

I love the quality and service of the coffee and food items at Starbucks. The food is very fresh and high quality ingredients. The coffee is amazing and hits the spot in the morning, it’s strong enough without being overly bitter.
Kean Coffee

1 review

This is a real local's place but with a sophisticated flair. People line out the door for Martin Diedrich's on-site roasted beans and the staff's charming latte art. I come to Kean to write and always get a soy latte with a chocolate walnut rugalach which costs me about $10...
Cafe Angelique

Amazing melt in your mouth croissants, fresh squeezed orange juice, fantastic lattes and heavenly quiche. This little gem was recommended to us by a kind woman who gave us directions when we got lost looking for Greenwich Village. The decor is kitchy with mismatched furniture...
Java House restaurant

Cheap drinks and food. Specials every day. You have to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom, which is kinda strange. The sangria is hit or miss. I always get the spicy chicken which is really good, and the hummus is amazing.
Second Cup Coffeehouse

1 review

I don't usually enjoy frequenting chain restaurants, but I make an exception for Second Cup on Edmonton in downtown Winnipeg. It has a certain "je ne sais quoi" about it. A nice place to grab a snack on the go or sink into one of their armchairs with a latte macchiato for an...
Baden Coffee Company

1 review

I recently saw a van decorated with the Baden Coffee Company on it and was intrigued. Unfortunately I can't leave home so I ordered online a variety of different coffees like their Grumpy Roaster brand. I can easily say that this was one of the best cups of coffee I've had in a...

Tim Horton’s - Melfort

Quality sandwiches, donuts, and coffees. Not always the friendliest staff, but quality in food is well worth the grumps! Enjoy taking my family for a treat at a fair price.

Gallagher's Coffee Bar

Love this little coffee bar in New Port Village! A great place to stop in with friends after a hike or a casual Sunday afternoon brunch. The food menu here is also quite impressive for the little size of this cafe! Plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options as well, and they...

Teavana - Newmarket, Ontario

Wide variety of teas available for purchase. If you're not sure, they will brew a cup of the tea you're interested in at the tea bar at a reasonable price. Service is fantastic and the servers really know a lot about their products.
