If you're looking for an "extra" yoga stretch, then I'd highly recommend Aerial Yoga. The gym that I have offers it and I've seen various spots pop up in and around the city.

It's like a combination of silks from Circus/Acrobatic school intense yoga swinging on the trapeze. Channel your inner Cirque du Soleil performer, girls!

As far as the workout itself, it is a very intense workout.....you'll get a deeper stretch than regular yoga because of the added gravity when hanging from the silks, so definitely bigger openings and deeper stretching in areas like hip flexors and pecs. And you'll gain HUGE upper strength because you're pulling your body up for pretty much the entire workout. This workout is all strength and upper body - which most women really need to work on anyway because we already have natural strength in our legs. Also, this workout is FUN. It's something different and you're so busy trying to figure out how to do the moves that time totally passes really quickly.

    A few things I'd recommend:

    - make sure you get into a small class with a very knowledgeable instructor so you can get a lot of one on one training (the class I'm in has max 8 participants)
    - don't stress if you don't get the moves....I had fun just swinging around off the floor.
    - the only drawback that I had personally was the fact that I got dizzy when doing inversions (remember the silks aren't attached so they swing a bit) but after a few classes I got used to this
