Very unprofessional! Supposed to have a special promotion for microblafing but was then cancelled 3 times because they "were too busy"
Told I could only be seen during non busy time in AM
during the week despite the fact that I have my own business and work during the day and this was not convenient. This was not what was agreed to
In the first place. Apparently the manager told the technician to cancel my appointment on Saturday even though it was booked an entire week earlier.
I had over $200.00 in gift certificates purchased by my husband and this is how they treat their loyal customers!
I'm extremely disappointed in the service at Evelyn Charles. I had a facial at the Southcentre location and was introduced to a medical skincare line that TuTu said would solve my skincare concerns - clogged pores, blackheads and acne. As I know I've had issues with different skincare lines in the past, I asked specifically if I could return the product for a refund if I didn't see results/ had an issue with it - TuTu told me that yes, I would receive a full refund. I have been very unhappy as I haven't seen any change in my skin, and my face started peeling everywhere - including the tip of my nose and the bottom of my lip. I tried to bring the skincare back on Tuesday and was told they have a no return policy. I let the receptionist know what I was told and asked to speak with a Manager - there wasn't one in the spa that day, but she did call a couple of individuals to see if there was anything she could do. At one time, I was told they would exchange the product for something else... then was told that no they wouldn't do anything. TuTu came to speak with me and told me again that I could receive a refund - she was then corrected by the receptionist and told that the Manager, Cheryl, said they would not do anything. I am EXTREMELY disappointed that the individuals who sell the product are allowed to tell their customers what they choose in order to get a sell (I assume they get some commission from the sale), but the spa won't stand behind the word of their employees. The receptionist tried to do everything she could to help, which I was thankful for. I have been going to this spa for 15+ years, but will never again support a business that has such little regard for their customers. I now have $500 of skincare products that I can never use given the effects they had on my skin!
If you have plenty of time, no money, and don't mind mediocre results, this is the place for you!
I've been getting my legs and bikini line waxed for just under 10 years however this was my first time at EC Academy to receive this service. It was by far the worst I'd ever experienced (including being compared to services in Thailand, Bolivia, and Ecuador). First, the service today seemed generally unprepared: not enough wax ready, constantly cutting more strips, gloves not directly available. Further, the aesthetician was not methodical in her waxing technique, I went home and shaved off big patches of missed leg hair, she kept apologizing for mistakes, and got wax on my undergarments which are now ruined. Last, a full leg wax, took TWO HOURS. I could have pulled all my leg hair out with tweezers in this amount of time. On a beautiful Saturday afternoon I was so annoyed to have to spend the majority of it laying on a table in a fluorescent lit back room.
In summary, EC Academy produced barely acceptable results at inexpensive prices but you'd better not have anything else to do that day.

A medical doctor is no longer on staff to administer the Botox injections.
Had one Botox treatment with a Doctor at this location. When I called to book a subsequant treatment I asked for the same Doctor and was advised he had been replaced with another Doctor. Show up for my scheduled appointment and was advised no Doctor was on staff, however a nurse will administer the Botox treatment. Should have walked out the door. Went a head with the treatment and it has been a disaster. Nurse does not no what she is doing. I've had minimal improvement in the treatment area's for the large amount of money I've paid.
This is not my first Rodeo. I've had succsessful Botox treatments administered by Docto's for the last 5 years for less money. I know how my face reacts to treatment.
I've received nothing but BS explanations from Evelyn Charles staff as to why the Botox treatment has not worked.
Shamefull!! A full refund is in order.

Domt go to their salon in the market mall ,calgary!!... The manager isnt even a hais stylist amd knows nothing about hair( self confessed). I got 2 bad cuts and 1 bad colour from them. I only went back as they offered to fix it .. And in fairness the second time they did .... I complained tomthere central nooking line and they put me in contact with the regional director , as the salon manager basicaly said i was lying!.. I have the pictures of my hair .... It was awful. Oh , nad the regional manager never had the decemcy to call me !?.. Never ever using them again.
I know perms are not vey popular but I like to get them before going on a long holiday. I went for the consultation and liked what I was told so I booked. Before leaving I asked the receptionist (who booked the appointment and talked with the stylist) how much would the perm be. She said $120.00, I thought that was an average price. At first I was impressed with stylist but after she took out the rods you could see some of the ends were badly fried (not a big deal) but I had to ask her to trim them. When I went to pay I was told it was $189 (at this price one would think a trim is included). I told the receptionist I was quoted $120 but all she could do was make excuses as to the difference. The perm is OK not spectatular and deffinitely not worth $189. If you do decide to book verifty the price before they start, you won't get any break once done.

Oooo and I thought I was the only one that had a not so good experience at Evelyn Charles. I am originally from Alberta and on a recent trip back I went to Evelyn Charles to get my hair done as I thought it was comparable to a Natural Solutions kind of salon in Toronto. While the products they carry are good and the ambiance is fine, I was not at all impressed with the staff. They are unbelievably snotty like they are the 'it stylists' of the city. I hate to break to them but there are plenty salons on their level around Canada (Alberta included) with more friendly staff who know what they are doing and make you feel great while you are there. Skip Evelyn Charles and try somewhere else.
I don't agree...my stylist is awesome, the store is beautiful and i always feel on top of the world when I leave there!
Over priced, snotty employees, and no explaination of cost.. they do things then you get a 30 dollar bill to blow dry your hair. (and she was very rough)
