Went to Folinos at Sherway Gardens and had a horrible job done on my hair. The service was horrible, the stylist was rude and most importantly, the stylist gave me nothing of what I asked for. I was left extremely unhappy and dissatisfied and on top of that I had to pay over $200 on a terrible job!

I have been going to my stylist at FOLINOS for many years, I dont have a problem with my stylist in anyway, the only reason I go to this salon is for my stylist. Now for the reason I am posting here: The owner of the salon... treated my girlfriend [poorly] when my girlfriend had an issue with how her appointment wasnt honoured. ...My girlfriend came home crying. The owner [should not] be allowed to conduct himself that way. If not for my stylist, I would never set foot in [there].

My hair before: Was long about just passed my bust and it was healthy .. I hardly heat style my hair before .. but this hair cut it seems that it will need more styling for it. Heat=Damage=doesn't grow as fast.

After: 3 inches off, bangs, too short layers

I asked for an 1 inche off to clean up the ends, I asked for face framing layers but keep the longs ones at the back. I asked for long bangs.

My hair takes for forever to grow. so this is big for me. My hair before I will admit that it needed shaped but this is not what I asked for. The hairdresser said because my hair is fine that I shouldn't keep that long but it can get too thin at the ends, well with the layers that you did it will now -_-
the layers at the back seem to be short and kind of choppy especially since my hair was soo long before.

From the front I liked it but I would like it a bit more if the layers were longer and only an inche was taken off.

As of right now, I don't like my haircut cut at all, hairdresser seems to never listen. Maybe in 2 weeks or 2 even months, it will look better *sigh*

    Folino's hair salon (Yorkdale)

    0.00000000001/5 (5 being great)

People who know me know my hair is long, thick, and heavy. I usually keep it long..long enough to classify it as LONG.

So when I go to get a cut...I usually ask to trim about 2" off...that, is a trim to me as my hair grows about an inch a month. It has been 7 months since my last cut.

Lets just say my hair was around my waist. 2" off would have brought it just to under my bust.
It is now at level with my under arm...if you haven't gathered..that's over my bust.

    Story cut short:

    Stylist : Rico.
I asked him to trim about 2" off, 2 1/2" at the most at the back and 1" to 1 1/2" at the front, with layers, and some thinning. I got NONE of that. During my cut, I asked if he was going to keep my hair pretty long, he assured me it would be long. I kept asking and telling him, ok...it's getting short. He said don't be scared as it's still long at the back. Yeah? Nnnn-o. Maybe it's long for a dude, but you're with a female. He spent about 15 mins on cutting my hair, and for all you girls out there know that 15 mins is nothing. He barely layered it and I did not want to ask for layers fearing that he will cut it shorter than it already is. By now he is blowdrying and styling my hair. "Wait...what about the thinning? " I thought to myself. "I guess he'll do it after it's styled. Maybe that's what some stylists do?
    "
Soon enough I asked if he was going to thin my hair. "Are you going to thin my hair?". Rico responds, "Oh, I guess we can do that."

    Are you kidding me?!
You've been a stylist for 20 yrs and you dont think of thinning a persons thick and heavy mane?
    This is a joke.

    I said. "Yeah".

So, he grabs hair spray and positions it about 10" above my head..kind of hovering. Then he lightly presses against the nozzle till the can lightly spits out hair spray. Spits. One circle motion, I had about 3 or 4 drops hit me. Now we can thin my hair out.

After my stank face is revealed by pulling my mane away from my face, he tries to fix my hair. I told him "I can do it". I tuck my hair behind my ear. He doesn't even bother to dust the extra strands left off me or direct me to the cashier or to the closet where my coat and scarf are hung. He just proceeds to the next customer.

He spent about 30 mins on me. Wash, cut, dry. That's it.
He cut about 6" off me. Not happy...it's also not even.

This cut cost me about 52$. I did NOT tip him. I paid and walked out. It was a total rip off.

Not only that, I complained to the cashier and the cashier, a bald man, just shrugged and told me the price.
