Love taking the train
Taking the train is the best feeling ever, it is relaxing and I find it to be so much fun.
They have recently updated a lot of their trains, so they are more comfortable, and even added more leg room
I almost always fall asleep because it is so comfortable and relaxing.
The prices can be a little bit on the expensive side, however, when they go on sale they are well worth it.
You can leave the car behind, without worry, and take the comfortable option!!
I always use Via Rail to travel. I've taken business class and economy (depending on how long my travel time is) and both are very comfortable. Compared to the bus, it's most definitely worth the money. Always clean, timely, and assigned seating is a plus!
They offer an assortment of snacks, and if you're traveling in business class you will get a free meal. Wifi is available as well, with that being said, I often find it is very slow/doesn't work (so don't rely on it for business). All the attendants have been very helpful with any questions or concerns. Anytime I travel within Canada I always use Via Rail.
Just took my first trip on VIA rail with my lil one and we both just loved it. I really looking forward to our next trip to Alberta. Travel VIA rail, you won't regret it.
I travel a lot and have a physical disability. I've used various forms of transportation but my favorite is VIA Rail. I don't mind paying a tad more than the bus (evens out with points system and discounts) because I get what I want and need. Staff are friendly and helpful, and flexible regarding my changing assistance needs. There was a time when my opinion wasn't so positive about Toronto Union re: disability needs, but I've seen quite a transformation in the last 4-5yrs and am very satisfied about the level of care and respect. Cars offer enough leg room and space for mobility aids and luggage, and I like the free wi-fi service even in economy. It's great even in bad winter weather. Communication in stations and on trains is efficient and clear- lots of signs, clear voices, and staff are helpful. When you call to book for disability-related needs, it's easy to get to the right person, and you never get to the train station realizing your needs were never booked properly(common with other modes). The schedule is also very good for me in a well-serviced area. Overall, I'm quite pleased.
