Only if he likes chess. You fill the molds with liquid glass; one with white. the other with black.I've made so many of these through the years. Of course it's easier if he has the board already. If not, you can buy one or have someone that is at woodwork make one for you. Just thought I'd pass it on. They've all liked them so far.
