If you are looking for a retinol eye cream but something a little different, look no further!

I was sent the Aveeno Calm + Restore Age Renewal Eye Gel free from Butterly and Aveeno to take for a test drive and I have to say I am impressed!

This is a plant-based retinol alternative that is meant for daily use and sensitive skin. With the goal of improving the look for dark circles, puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles, this eye gel has a heavy workload but maintains a lightweight texture and feel. It uses cranberry extract, nourishing oat (an Aveeno signature) and contains Niacinamide (Vitamin B3). The cranberry extract contains antioxidant-rich peptides which improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as improve the skin’s moisture barrier. The colloidal oat nourishes and hydrates the skin, while the niacinamide works to smooth and brighten the skin. It is free from fragrance, parabens, phthalates, dyes, and alcohol, as well as being hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic.

I have been using the eye gel for the past 4 weeks and have noticed a significant improvement in my dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, and wrinkles. I use it both morning and evening, and as someone with sensitive and allergic skin I have not experienced any redness or irritation that can often accompany retinols. This eye gel has a great texture, is lightweight, is not greasy, and it melts into the eye areas well, it also has a cooling feeling upon application.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what my expectations were for this eye gel and the claims it made, but I have to say I underestimated this product. I have seen visible improvements in the fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes and at the corners. It is particularly noticeable when I smile or laugh, I really wasn’t expecting it to be so good, and not because of anything in particular, just because I have used various eye creams and not really noticed much difference overall. I have also noticed less puffiness and a reduction in the dark circles under my eyes. I also use the gel around my mouth for the fine lines and wrinkles, this is a little trick to help with the lines that show up around the mouth, especially the fine lines that lipstick will bleed into as we age.

I was also sent the Aveeno Calm + Restore Age Renewal Serum free to try alongside the eye gel and these two products work phenomenally together.

I have been quite impressed with this Aveeno eye gel and I think you will be as well, I highly recommend it!

Light and efficient cream

I really enjoyed this little cream. I used to use a lower quality product before and always created tingling.This one does not. It is soft and light as a cream. Also effective, as if I had a coffee for my eyes!

Great texture- great results

I really enjoyed using this eye cream. I found it to have almost a cooling sensation and I loved the slightly gel like texture. It made for a very creamy and sink into your skin like texture! Overall I found the cream to work at plumping the skin around my eyes.

Allergic Reaction

I used Aveeno Calm + Restore Age Renewal Eye Gel and the skin around my eye area immediately began burning terribly and turned red. I discontinued using the product due to this.

Aveeno Calm and Restore Eye gel

I have received this product as a free product to review. This is my honest review. I have been using this cream for 3 weeks now. I immediately notice and felt a smoothness around my eyes that I have not felt for a long time. When applied at night, I notice less fine wrinkles around my eyes in the morning. My eyes tend to be dry, and this has not affected them at all in a bad way. There is not noticeable fragrance at all which I love as who wants to smell their face cream(s) all day long. It is, by far, one of the nicest eye creams I have ever used.

Aveeno eye gel

I got Aveeno calm + restore age renewal eye gel for free. This gel is very light on the skin and non scented gel which I like. It is easy to apply and absorb quickly. I only used it for 5 days so haven’t notice any changes. It doesn’t hurt/irritate my eyes when I apply it. The product I used before makes my eyes red and hurt my eyes after couple of hours. I probably need more time to notice any improvement on my skin.

No more tired eyes

The dark circles and puffiness under my eye was very prominent but this eye gel really helped improve the dark circle, puffiness as well as the dullness. I have been using this eye gel along with the age renewal serum and love the end results. I have been using just a small amount of eye gel daily, dabbing it around the eye area and gently patting to avoid stretching of the delicate skin around the eye area. The texture of this eye gel is very silky and applies smoothly. There is no sticky residue. It absorbed quickly and did not feel heavy. After using it for a couple of weeks, I am happy that my eyes do not look tired. It comes in a small jar which I absolutely love. Even the dryness around my eye area has disappeared which was a plus point. I love the calm and cooling sensation of this gel after every application.

It works great ! I use it twice a day, morning and night. You don’t need a lot, it doesn’t have any smell which is nice. The puffiness in the eyes is minimal. Makes the under eye looks brighter.
