Not too oily!

The sensitive skin formula is great for skin prone to oil and breakouts! It goes on as a lotion but quickly dries down and doesn’t leave an oily film. Great size bottle too - fits in the beach bag or purse!

Blue Lizard Mineral Sunscreen great for any skin

This was my first time using the Blue Lizard Sensitive Mineral SPF 50 Sunscreen Lotion and I thought it was great. The cream was thick so I originally thought it would leave a residue and I would be able to feel it on my skin. To my surprise, it blended easily into the skin and did not leave a smell. I couldn't tell I was wearing it! The sunscreen is for all types of skin, especially sensitive skin so I wasn't worried about any irritation. It's free from parabens and phthalates and infused with Aloe Vera. it left my skin feeling smooth, hydrated and protected.

The 89ml tube is a great size to keep in my bag for my every day sun protection. It is also water resistant. Skin protection is for 80 minutes so it's best to re-apply multiple times a day if you expect to be out and about.

Mixed Feelings

I have such mixed feelings about this sunscreen! I used it in multiple ways and liked it in some situations and not in others. I will summarize below:

Face - I liked it on my face but only when it is the first sunscreen I apply in the morning. When I applied over makeup later in the day, I found it was harder to get it to absorb/not leave a white cast and felt greasy and heavy on my skin versus when it was applied first I did not find it greasy or heavy. I do think the white cast goes away after a few moments on my face.

Body - I could NOT make the white cast go away on my legs! I don't know if it's because of the other body lotions and/or oils I had on earlier in the day or what, but it never went away.

The reason I have mixed feelings though is that despite the white cast and greasiness, I can say without a doubt that it is effective! I took it golfing with me on a sunny day with no cloud. I had a different sunscreen applied from when I left home and brought this one to do touch ups. About halfway through my day I noticed my shoulders were getting darker. I applied this and did not get any darker for the rest of my day! Same thing with my legs.

So overall, I like it but don't know if it would be my first choice when reaching for a sunscreen. I was sent this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Goes on easy, good sun protection

Super impressed with the Blue Lizard Mineral Sunscreen I received in exchange for a review. I feel well protected from the sun, and didn’t have to spend 10 minutes working it into my skin. Not greasy or oily, and love that the product is free from all the nasty ingredients in most store bought sunscreen!

Amazing sunscreen!!

Blue lizard sunscreen is fantastic. I truly trust sunscreens made from Australian brands more then any others as Australia has such hot weather and some of the most extreme UV rays in the world. Lovee how this sunscreen is made with aloe! It’s truly perfect UV 50, waterproof, most likely sweat proof, and it great for sensitive skin it truly hits all the notes and it such a wonderful sunscreen, this brand has now become a stable for me for sunscreen!! Would recommend especially for kiddos!

Works great on redheads

I am very happy with this sunblock. It’s not super thick and rubs into the skin well. Leaves a slight ghost look for only a few minutes before it absorbs into the skin which is a beneficial knowing I didn’t miss a spot. I was concerned that a Mineral sunscreen would not preform as well as some of the better known more chemical heavy but I was wrong! This product lasted further than I expected and did a fantastic job. I am a natural redhead and burn very easy but the Blue Lizard product won me over!

Great Protection for Sensitive Skin

I recently tried this sunscreen, and overall, I'm really happy with it. I have sensitive skin that reacts to a lot of chemical sunscreens, so I was looking for something mineral-based, and this one did not disappoint. The formula is gentle, no stinging, no breakouts, and no weird fragrance. It goes on a bit thick at first and does leave a slight white cast when you apply it, but with a bit of rubbing, it blends in pretty well (especially compared to other mineral sunscreens I've tried). It feels a bit creamy at first but settles nicely without feeling greasy. What I really liked was how well it held up outdoors, I wore it on a sunny day for a long walk and didn't get burnt at all. It's water-resistant too, which is great for beach days or sweaty workouts. The UV-activated cap is a cool touch, it changes color in sunlight to remind you to reapply, which is actually super handy. Only downside is that it takes a bit longer to rub in, and if you have darker skin, you might notice a bit more of that white tint. But the peace of mind I get from knowing it's safe for sensitive skin and reef-safe makes it worth it. Would definitely buy again, especially for summer or travel!

Easy to apply

I find that this spreads well, skin feels soft after and no skin reactions. There's no scent to it which I like. Just used it while outside for 3 hours under the sun midday and it worked well

Good mineral sunscreen

I enjoy using the Blue Lizard mineral sunscreen. Usually mineral sunscreen means that it's physically helping to block the UVs and so would feel more heavy and leave a white cast but this one isn't too bad, though you will have to take some time to rub it in and let it set. I like that it has organic aloe in it and water resistant. Also it should be less harmful to the ocean and the environment.

Loving the mineral formula!

I like this sunscreen - it goes on easily, a little greasy bit nothing terrible! It’s nice and thick and my skin felt soft when I went to reapply. Nice to pop in my purse and slather on for my long drives. It is very smooth and doesn’t leave a white cast. No smell is present either which is nice. I’d definitely purchase more.
