Great sunscreen for on the go!
The Blue Lizard mineral sunscreen stick is awesome because of how portable it is. It is a tiny stick that allows you to twist up the product, like a deodorant stick, and easily swipe on the product. The sunscreen itself feels a bit chalky when you first apply it, and is definitely very white, but it blends mostly invisible into the skin. I do find that it is a little difficult to blend in with your fingers, as the texture is a bit dry. There is just the slightest white cast on my medium toned skin with this product, and so, I'm not sure how well it would work for darker skin tones. There is no scent to this product, which I really like, as I don't like it when my sunscreen smells like a chemical on my face all day. I like that I can just toss the product into my bag and carry it with me wherever I go, and that allows me to conveniently reapply it throughout the day, as well.

New sun stick
I’ve never owned a stick sunscreen before, so I decided to give this one a try — and I have to say, I really love the size and packaging. It’s super travel-friendly and purse-friendly, making it perfect for on-the-go use. Honestly, there’s no excuse not to wear sunscreen when it’s this convenient compared to traditional full-size bottles.
As someone with acne-prone skin, I went with the sensitive version, and so far, it’s been living up to its claims — no breakouts at all, which is a big win.
Now let’s talk about how it applies. As a Black girl, I always look for Black-friendly sunscreens — meaning no white cast or residue. When you first apply it, it goes on white, which is expected, but the doubt starts to creep in as you rub it in. The texture is actually pretty smooth and easy to apply, but unfortunately, it does leave a slight white cast. After a good minute of rubbing it in, it looks better, but there’s still a subtle ashy finish that’s a turn-off for me when I’m trying to find a great sunscreen.
That said, I do appreciate the matte finish — it keeps the skin from getting too oily and leaves a nice, balanced look.
Now for the price... at around $15 for such a miniature size, it’s honestly a bit much. Not going to lie — it doesn’t feel worth the amount of product you're getting, especially when there are larger or more inclusive options out there at similar price points.
Overall, I love the concept, the skin-friendly formula, and how convenient it is — but I wish it had a more inclusive finish and a better value for the price.
