This isn't cheesecake...

I've tried several cheesecakes and cakes from the Dr. Oetker brand, and to be honest, I'm not impressed. None of these have tasted like actual cheesecakes, or even cakes. The cheesecakes have a graham crust which isn't particularly sweet and doesn't hold together. The cheesecake filling doesn't taste like cheesecake, and the toppings, salted caramel and the mixed berry, don't taste like either of these things. It's just an odd combination and poorly thought out recipes. These are NOT cheesecakes. I also tried the brownie chocolate cake, and it too was not appealing.

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of many of the products in this brand - They are just not 'authentic' and feel processed and manufactured. I've read about the history of 'Dr. Oetker' who was a pharmacist, not a physician/MD, and not a chef.

The brand and advertising are just so confusing. Their products aren't novel, and certainly don't live up to the 'standards' of what we would expect.
