First off, let me just start this review by saying, I love this mascara! I was in Shopper's Drug Mart one day and I came across Essence products. There was just a small display of products and I didn't think much of it. I was on the hunt for a new mascara but wasn't really in the mood to spend a lot of money. I had heard/read good things about the little felt tip liquid liner so I decided to grab both. I chose the volume boost mascara because I had tried others with the promise of volume boosting and was let down.. The tube itself is about the size of a highlighter/thick sharpie. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from such a cheaply priced product but I was pleasantly surprised. Many 'volume boosting' mascaras just ended up clumping up my lashes, especially on my right eye. Thankfully this didn't. The brush is nice and fluffy and thick but does well to get into the roots of the lashes. It tapers a bit near the end of the brush so you can catch the little lashes at the outer corners of the eyes. I don't use it so much on my bottom lashes because of how thick the brush is, it can leave streaks under your eyes if you have shorter bottom lashes. I don't find the mascara to be too thick but sometimes it can get a bit goopy on the brush. I read somewhere once that if you put a little bit of contact lens solution in the mascara it can help thin it out a bit, so I decided to try it; I put a few drops onto the brush then mixed it around (no, I did not 'pump' the brush in the tube) and it made it so that the mascara went onto my lashes smoother and I didn't get any little bits hanging off the end of my lashes. I have a lot of eyelashes but they aren't really long (aside from a few crazy ones) and this mascara made them look long and full, kind of like wearing natural false lashes. I will definitely be getting more essence products in the future.

This is definately one of the best drugstore mascaras i have tried.It holds curl very well and stays put.I have not experienced any flaking or smudging with this mascara in the waterproof version. It stays on almost too well and will require a really good makeup remover to take off. I find that oil based or cleansing oil removers work best.

This is my new favourite mascara honestly, Its just amazing as other expensive mascaras like maybelline, urban decay etc. Honestly, I find no difference between this essence mascara and the expensive ones. I would reccomend this to anyone! Stop spending $20 on mascaras, when you can get the same quality for $3 !

So I bought this mascara because I was out of my usual brand and didn't have enough money at the moment to buy it. This was only $3.99 so I thought I'd give it a shot! I was pleasantly surprised with it. I like the formula of the mascara, the brush isn't my favourite but I can either use an old brush from an old mascara, or I just do a double coat and I'm happy! I obviously like other mascaras more, but for the price of this mascara its well worth the $3.99 and I would recommend to anyone who doesn't like paying the expensive prices of some makeup but still wants good quality.

Great price! Make the lashes look full and long, however it clumps together, I use it with another brush, combing the lashes to get rid of these clumps (: Overall, it's very good!

This mascara is honestly amazing for 3$. I have tried other name brands (sephora, makeup forever ect) and this little cheap tube is honestly so similar to higher priced mascaras that its great. It lifts and curls lashes and will not clump if properly applied. And you definitely cant beat the price!

Love this product and how it makes my eyes the main feature of my face! The mascara is in a large bottle that is both cost effective and easy to manage.

WOW! this product is sooo good ! definitely gives me the big lashes ! im impressed! and so darn cheap too !! I say everyone should try this out ! you'll be amazed :)

What I love about this product is that it has a super huge wand so it makes it easy to really get big lashes like it claims. The onky problem is that it tends to ckump easily because of its largeness. This could easily be solved by using it with a smaller wand to separate the lashes. On the go, or when youre in a rush this might get tireing, and time consuming but truly, for special occasions when you want that extra volume, it is certainly worth the extra time to get it right.
