Not especially voluminizing but gives great definition.

Low effectiveness rating because it's a "voluminizing" mascara and it does not voluminize. You can't really build up the formula. I was disappointed initially, but after using it more, I do like it for a more subtle mascara. It gives good definition and separation of lashes, the brush is a nice shape for pushing your lashes up, and the price tag is amazing. It's better than any other mascara you can get for $4.

Awesome and affordable

This is a great mascara, provides length and volume to the lashes. Can be a bit clumpy but considering how cheap it is and how long it makes your eyelashes, it’s worth taking the extra second to remove the excess mascara from the wand!

You get what you pay

I was a little hesitant to purchase his mascara wondering if it would work good or be garbage. For the $4 and some change I said why not give it a try. I thought the tube was cute with little lace designs. Once I used it, my lashes looked longer and fuller but they also had little clumps, stuck together and the worse part it dried out bad. After a little while when the mascara dried, my eyes started to become itchy. I was disappointed but in the end, the mascara does what it says and gives you volumized eyelashes. It was easy to wash off with just water, I didn't need to use anything but regular face wash to get the mascara fully off. So if you need a mascara in a quick pinch and don't want to spend much, this does what it says. However, it's unfortunately worth what you pay.

i always find it so hard to find a mascara that i actually love and wanna be using everyday. this is the perfect mascara, i 100 recommend this mascara

essence has some darn good products! And the prices are fabulous! I had tried a couple of their products, an eyeshadow here, a mascara there. I decided to purchase this last week when my daughter and I were in Shopper's Drug Mart. At $4.99 Canadian, as if I would say no. And to my delight, and that of the cheapskate inside me, it worked pretty darn good! No complaints. A couple of coats does the lashes nicely. Have not noticed any flaking or irritation. Not my holy grail, but not to far off either. And the packaging is adorable.
