I received a sample in the mail from Garnier to try out their new Skin Renew Dark Spot Treatment Mask. I followed the instructions on the back of the packet. The instructions were easy enough to follow. Before applying the mask, I washed and dried my face. I tore open the package and removed the mask. I was greeted with a pleasantly light fragrance however that is where the pleasantness started and ended for me. I clumsily tried to unfold the mask, which was dripping with product. It was a tad frustrating to get it unfolded properly. I applied it to my face as carefully as possible. The one-size-fits-all mask did not fit my face at all. The eye holes were way too small and the mask did not want to cooperate when it came to staying in place on the sides of my nose, even after several reapplications. I also noticed that the mask only covered about half my nose. Upon having the mask on, I immediately felt like my skin was on fire. Something in this product definitely irritated my skin. The burning sensation passed after about 5 minutes. I kept the mask on for the required 10 minutes and as recommended massaged the remaining product in my skin. I saw that my face was red and blotchy and for about 1 hour after the treatment, my skin was very sticky to the touch. My overall impressions of this product are mostly negative. I was not at all impressed with it. It was too drenched in liquid, it didn't fit my face correctly and it was mildly irritating to my skin. I don't foresee buying this product in the future nor recommending it to any of my friends or family. Does it really remove dark spots??? I'm not actually sure, but the package suggests your skin should be brighter after 2 weeks of usage.

I personally was disappointed :( I didn't feel any of the benefits of it; I never felt refreshed or anything. Was thankful it was a free sample ! Sorry Garnier :(
