I have a Keurig and hardly ever use it as I find the pods are to expensive We drink a lot of coffee in our house so financially it makes more since to buy instant coffee as there is more for the value. bring down the price of pods I will use it more ..

This is one of these things I feel mixed feelings about. When keurig first came out I immediately purchased one. Well I drink about 4 cups a day and my husband 2. We started realizing that we were spending a great deal of money on coffee, money that could have been used on other things. Sure it's convenient for someone who is in a rush and only drinks one cup a day. The k cups are not recyclable, or biodegradable. Did you know that inventor of keurig actually said he regretted making it? He even stated that he does not own a keurig! That says a great deal to me. So I personally do not benefit in any way from this machine. I actually prefer the taste of percolated and you can choose from a wide variety of flavours at a coffee shop and brew all the different flavours at home. So for me personally, this is not worth it. It may be great for a professional that has to run off to work at 6 in the morning but I am a homemaker, so this is not a great choice for our family.

A Keurig can do the job when you really need coffee, but it's not a great cup of coffee. Pods can be pricey, the coffee quality is not guaranteed, and even using your own grounds with refillable pods results in messes. I would not recommend Keurig for home use, but it makes sense for an office or place where making a quantity of coffee is more difficult.

We had a Keurig at work and while I hate to be a Debbie Downer, I much prefer regular brewed coffee to the Keurig. Firstly, I drink a lot of coffee so having to brew two cups to fill my mug is a negative for me. Secondly, I find the coffee to be too weak for my liking. Thirdly, I don't find the coffee to be hot enough. Despite these negatives, I did like having it at work because everyone could choose what they liked to drink and you could "play" with the flavours. For instance, I'd make a hot chocolate / coffee drink for a little morale boost in the afternoon. However, that's not enough to me to justify getting one at home. It's just not good enough, sorry.

This review is mainly for the 2.0 version....

We have owned Keurig machines for a few years now and have overall been happy - until now. I have seen the articles posted about how the pods are clogging up the landfill and refused to be a part of adding to that so we happily bought a re-usable pod and my BF fills it every morning with a scoop of coffee and I generally just run through the hot water and then steep my tea. It's been working out great until...

Our last machine bit the dust and we got the 2.0 and it's a flashy machine so we were excited HOWEVER it doesn't accept re-usable pods (I have heard there's a way to get around this but we haven't tried it yet, nor is it the point of reviewing this machine which doesn't want to allow for it) AND when it just dispenses water it doesn't give you as many options as it does for when you add a pod - which is silly because I want the 8 or 10 oz options just as much when I make my tea - I usually have to run through the 6 oz option twice which wastes some time it shouldn't have to.

We are going to return this one and if we can get one similar to our last one which will take the re-usable pods and dispense enough hot water we will otherwise we will just be moving back to the kettle and regular coffee maker.

My children bought my husband and I this Keurig brewing system for Christmas last year. The price was right(for my kids who are teenagers and don't make much money) and the coffee was fantastic. I was so happy to have it and it was awesome up until about a few months ago. The machine started to pour half cups and it sounded like it was struggling so I purchased a Keurig brand descaler (even though the descaling light wasn't on) which was suggested by the manufacturer. This still didn't fix the problem, I am not usually a person that would give a negative review but it seems I am not the only person with this issue according to all the videos I found online. I definitely would not purchase another one of these due to this reason and also there are no guarantees that the next one will work for a longer period of time. Where have the days gone where you can purchase a small appliance and it would last longer than a year?

I am having a hard time with this review as the keurig brewer does a good job if you are a person that only drinks a few cups of coffee per day. The machine itself does work well for me but if I have a few people over that drink coffee it becomes expensive and extra work. The K cups are expensive and do not have the best flavour of coffee. You also have to keep adding water to keep the tank filled. I purchased the reusable filters for it which do work and cut the cost of coffee but they are a pain to keep refilling and cleaning. So in short, this brewer is good for the person that has one or two cups of coffee per day but I will stick to my drip machine for the most part.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Keurig machine. Here's my issue with Keurig's. They are only worth while if you drink one or two cups of coffee per day. If you are a major coffee drinker and drink coffee through out the day, these machines become very expensive when you start purchasing the K-Cups. I tried using the K-cup that you fill with your own coffee but that becomes a pain and a huge mess, not to mention it's time consuming to empty and refill everytime you want to make a cup of coffee.

Don't even bother. You are better off buying any general brewing system. Save your money. Goes slow and doesn't brew the same size cups all the time.
