Good grip

This plier is a well made tool, easy to use, with the self adjusting feature to fit a variety of filter sizes. It provides a very strong grip, removing really tight filters with ease. One limitation I experienced was if your filter is located in a small/tight area, you may not have enough space to turn the tool/handles. I would recommend this plier. Good quality tool, but difficult to open

The build quality is good and the clamps steel is very strong. I spend however 10 minutes to figure out how to open it. The easiest way to open it is to hold the tool downwards (like in the picture), pushing up the right handle with the right hand, while exercising downward pressure with the left hand. The tool is the original position, requires the user to pull down the right handle, which was very difficult to accomplish. The self adjusting mechanism is pretty standard.
