I got this product and I love it. It doesn't smudge as much as some other products that I have tried, which is important for me because my lashes are long and straight, and with mascara on rub against my glasses/upper eyelids quite a bit.
It doesn't clump, and I found that I only needed about one coat -- sometimes I go with two, depending on the mascara.
Definitely worth trying!

I received this mascara as a member of the Product Review Club. I was excited to try out a new mascara. I wear glasses and like to add a bit of pop to my eyes with mascara either by volume or colour. The following is how I would sum up my impression of the mascara:

Pro:
-the mascara did not clump on the brush
-loved the size of the brush
-the mascara was not difficult to remove at the end of the day

Con:
-I suffer with sinus problems and anything that has a strong smell bothers me. Considering that it was so close to my nose, I could smell it hours after application.
-I have long lashes with a natural curl. I like mascara's that add volume, but this just did not do it for me. The claim of 9X the volume in just one coat is false.

Overall I did like the mascara, despite the fact that it did not have the same volumizing effect as other mascara's. However, the company will have to do something about the smell for me to use it again.

Tried this mascara for the first time this morning and was super impressed!
I put one coat on and there were no clumps. Two coats on...still no clumps. Three coats later...I'm completely and utterly clump-free. Despite the three coats, I still found the mascara very natural-looking and helped enhance my barely there lashes. I found this to be a much better product than the best-selling Maybelline Great Lashes (pink bottle with black cap) and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to try something new.

PS - it also was the first mascara that didn't smudge under my eyes (even in comparison to waterproof mascara)!!!

A great mascara, especially compared to some of the older varieties maybelline has put out. It goes on smooth, doesn't clump and provides a reasonable amount of volume for a mascara of this quality. It does have a bit of an odd smell, but it really doesn't bother me.

Like most of Maybelline's mascaras, I really liked this one. It added length to my lashes and made them pop. I loved the fact that it did not clump my lashes together as much as other mascaras tend to do. It does have a light scent to it, but it didn't bother me at all, I kind of liked it.
The colours of the bottle are cute and go well together, though I would prefer the bottle to be a little thinner. This one takes up more room than normal in my makeup bag. I will be buying this mascara again!

An all-round great mascara, not clumpy and not too heavy. I love the big fat brush. It has finer bristles that seperate the lashes nicely and it gives more volume than my regular brand. Lovely packaging, too - the yellow and purple are very eye catching- someone aced their colour theory!

I was thrilled to receive this mascara since it claims to provide 9x volume from the first application. I am not one of those lucky women who have long, lush lashes. I have sparse, short and fine lashes, and usually the only way for my eyelashes to frame my eyes is if I use false lashes. Since receiving it, I have used Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara several times in order to provide my review on it.

The first time, I applied the mascara only to one set of eyelashes, leaving the other set bare. When compared with my natural lashes, the mascara made a noticeable difference. My lashes were darker in tint than usual; however, I didn't find that it made them more lush, longer or thicker. I have used other mascaras that had better impact with less work, as I had to apply 2 to 3 coats to see any difference.

As others have indicated, the smell seems strange for a mascara. Perhaps they can create a scent-free formulation of it.

I'd also like a waterproof version, as I found that my mascara felt as though it was melting off mid-way through the day and left slight smudge-marks under my eyes.

Overall, Maybelline Colossal Volum'Express Mascara does a good job for a drugstore mascara. I would probably buy it again if a waterproof formula was available.

I like over the top packaging. I think its fun.

Now on to the mascara. This is volumizing....but not lengthening at all. I felt like my lashes were sticking out.

If you are looking for volume...get this... its awesome. For length this is not a good choice.

It lasted all day....smudging for me by the end of the day. I wonder if it comes in waterproof......:)

I was looking forward to trying a mascara that works well on my short lashes, so after receiving this product I applied 2 coats on one eye, left the other natural, and went to work. My co-workers noticed the difference-only when I pointed it out. Based on my experience with other mascaras of similar cost, this one did create a better volumizing effect without the usual clumping--something that we all look for, don't we? Although I don't think it lengthenened them. Besides the smell, if you're looking for a mascara that creates volume, doesn't clump, and doesn't cost a fortune, then this product is for you.

The selling point in this product is that it creates 9x the volume instantly with no clumps, Patented MegaBrush Collagen Formula plump lashes one by one and that it is washable. Because of the brush (and maybe the formula), this mascara does an amazing job with creating volume while keeping the lashes separate. Best of all, my lashes were left soft, supple and very natural looking. I also like that the product comes off so easily since it’s not waterproof, but it did not smudge or cause droopy lashes at the end of the day like some other non-waterproof mascara brands I’ve tried in the past. What I don’t like about this product is the smell as it gives off the impression that there are a lot of chemicals in the product but its tolerable, since the pros far outweighs the cons.

Overall, I’d recommend this mascara if you are looking for a product that is easy to apply, natural looking and reasonably priced for everyday wear.
