Ce produit ne fonctionne pas bien pour les nouveau-nés. Le débit est trop rapide pour un jeune bébé, et la tétine est trop longue. Je n'ai pas trouver que c'était un achat judicieux. Je ne le recommande pas du tout.

My baby never got used to this nipple. We tried using it maybe 3-4 times and then gave up on it and used a regular nipple with the bottle. Luckily we never had nipple confusion even though she was both breast and bottle-fed.

If you don't get it right and the baby partially sucks through, the milk spills everywhere and baby gets upset. Also very wasteful, and during the beginning days the last thing i wanted was my so-hard-to-get milk spilled.

I wouldn't recommend it for the early days for sure. Maybe later on.

The claims regarding the Calma system is that it's as close to actual breastfeeding as possible because baby needs to suck in order for milk to come out (avoids nipple confusion). Sounds reasonable, and that's why we bought that as our first bottle. In hindsight, I'm not sure how true that is because we switched to Dr. Brown's and baby still needs to suck (although not as hard) to get milk out. As with everything, maybe every baby's different, but our baby never seemed to have issues with nipple confusion.

So marketing aside, I had a couple of issues with the nipple. I found that it would often leak when turned upside down, and when you're trying to feed a baby that may be swiping at the bottle and knocking it out of your hands, that can be an issue. It's also an issue when you're trying to bring a bottle of milk out with you and it leaks during your travels as it gets tossed around in your bag.

The only thing I miss about the Medela bottle is that it was much easier to clean than the Dr. Brown's that I'm currently using. However, that's not enough reason for me to continue using it. After we switched baby to Dr. Brown's she wouldn't go back to Medela. I think it may be because she had to suck extra hard compared to the Dr. Brown's.

...and come to think of it, having to suck that hard isn't even mimicking real breastfeeding because if anything, at least with our baby, milk would just start flowing...sometimes even spraying when she was on the breast!
