When I was using the gel cleanser, I could feel the aloe as it started to foam. With the gentle citrus scent, the gel cleanser foamed up nicely as I used it on my face. It left nothing behind as I rinsed it off. As an aside, I did use it to shave my legs as well. Because of the aloe, it makes a good choice for a smooth, close shave.
