The Wii was a good purchase for us, because we live in an area where the weather makes it near impossible to spend much time outdoors in the summer. Wii Sports fills that activity gap. It gets the boys up and moving, while providing fun entertainment and family interaction. If we never played any other games on it except the Sports Resort that came bundled with it, it would still be a worthwhile investment. For an additional cost we added the Wii tablet that lets the boys draw, color, doodle, and do various sorts of artwork on the TV, and they love that as well. The console costs about the same as others on the market (Xbox, PS, etc) and the games are comparable, though we tend to get ours used from eBay for way cheaper.
We got one a few years ago, and played all the time. But after awhile we got tired of buying batteries so we quit playing. Its a good system and the games are a blast though! We wont sell ours because we do like to play on occassion!

we played it for a bit then it wasnt fun anymore, we use it to watch netflix now thats about it .sometimes i go on and make my family members a mii avatar in theyre likeness . the games were supposed to get u up out of ur seat but i prefer sitting on the easy chair with my ps3 controller and driving over pedestrians in grand theft auto . it soothes me ;)
We were badgered relentlessly by our son, he said all the other kids have a Wii. We got him one for his birthday.
He's been playing it pretty much non stop since them. I even tried the boxing game and it is defiantly a good work out.
I have video of the playing. The console stood up to an all day playing.
The accessories how ever did not last as long, needed battery replacement a couple times.
I have many gaming systems at home and the wii is a great tool to get the kids to get up and get active for a while. There are many interactive games with multiplayer modes so that a group of people can play. There are also games for adults to get active like zumba and wii fit.
I always said I would never own a console of any kind...sitting on the couch playing games is not my thing....I grew up playing outdoors, however I have to admit I love having the wii....when I don't feel like exercising I throw on the wii zumba or play a few games with my daughter. It's fun and interactive! Highly recommend
Love this system for games that aren't your average thing. Lots of varieties available for all ages and fitness levels.
love the wii. I am not a big shooting battle type person when it comes to games which seems to be what other systems are about. My house truly enjoys nintendo games so the wii works best for us.
