I bought the Wii Fit so that after my surgery I could get back to exercise slowly, as I was in lots of discomfort! I heard mixed reviews on it and thought I'd try it out anyways. The Wii Fit is actually VERY discouraging. I am not new to exercise by any means. I exercise about 6 days a week (hard core bootcamps), however after having abdominal surgery it takes a bit to get back at 'er. When you don't do a certain exercise up to 'their' level then the character on the screen hangs her/his head down in shame. This is certainly a very discouraging tool! My kids also used it with me and they found the same thing. I even caught my daughter who is younger hanging her head down in shame when she doesn't do 'good' enough. I think this is an awful tool for anyone, let alone children. There are a lot of eating disorders out there already and I know this will only add to it. I've since banned it from our house because of that!! (also I weigh 110lbs and am 5'1 tall but the character on the screen shows me as obese....another discourage tool!!) I can't even give this product away!! I had it for free at our yardsale last week and NO takers!! I had many similar comments by both Moms and Dads. It was WAY too expensive and no I would not recommend the Wii Fit to anyone...especially to anyone that wants to lose weight!...it will seriously just make you more depressed!!
THIS IS MARVELLOUS!!!! the perfect activity with a group of friends after supper. Or just to have fun with your little one on a rainy day. The WII will be to my opinion, a classic like the very first nintendo. it,s just awesome. And I am a girl. haha
In love with my wii! Great way to get up and moving, can create amusement for hours! Great with a big group, a couple of friends or solo! Vast array of games to play! Fun for all!
Got this from hubby as a gift, if we were going to have video games in the house, wanted something that had the possibility of at least a modicum of physical activity. This fit the bill perfectly, especially with all the new physical games being made available. We use this two or three times a week, and it has become a staple for family entertainment.
We bought this for our kids, and lets just say this become a family night staple! Our kids are younger, so we were a little hesitant about getting it, but they love the wii sports, and those types of activities, as well as the wii fit games. I'm not a video game person, but it's a lot of fun, and having us all involved is great. It can also give you quite the workout, depending on what you're doing. While the graphics are geared towards a much younger audience, there's a lot there for older people too. I remember playing Nintento way back when, and now I can enjoy this with my own kids.
We have Wii Fit, and if it did not have the option, I wouldn't have bought the Wii.
It's ok, this system is more for kids or seniors who have never tried video gaming, and are enjoying it for fitness and socialization. Otherwise don't buy it.
