Most sunscreens that claim to be broad spectrum really only protect against UVB rays. So, you won't get a sunburn, but because of the short and long UVA rays the sunscreen isn't protecting you from, your skin is going to age like leather left in the sun.

Studies have shown that Mexoryl XL maintains the majority of its sun filtering capability even 24 hours after initial application. I like to think of it as the magical sunscreen ingredient. I love this stuff.

Ombrelle Sport SPF 30 is a fantastic product. It's reasonably priced at about $19, and occasionally goes on sale for $2-3 off. You get a reasonable amount of product for your money.

The lotion is very easy to spread on skin and doesn't leave a white cast at all. I have very fair skin and have never burned while using this product. I also like that it is fragrance free and does not contain oxybenzone.

The only really big draw back to this product is that Garnier (and it's parent company L'Oreal) test on animals. Unfortunately cruelty free products are hard to come by where I live and I can't afford the extra price. I wouldn't be able to afford to use sunscreen at all, which would put me at a large risk of developing skin cancer. So, unfortunately, until a cruelty free product comes along that is affordable and easy to purchase from the shelves, I'm going to have to keep purchasing Ombrelle.

A good image for the approved sunscreen ingredients and their UVA and UVB coverage (Ecamsule is another word for Mexoryl).
