This is the first electric toothbrush I've ever owned though I have tried my boyfriend's before. With a separate head of course! It is small, which I like because it's great for traveling. The entire brush vibrates where as some electric toothbrushes the head rotates. At first I was worried my teeth wouldn't be as clean but my teeth feel the same clean they do with my boyfriend's toothbrush. I went away for a weekend and forgot to bring it with me. My teeth felt like they had fuzz growing on them with the manual toothbrush. It drove me nuts all weekend. I'll never go without my electric toothbrush again. I think this is a great starter electric toothbrush for the price point. I do prefer the higher end one my boyfriend has but it's also a lot more expensive.

I forgot to mention, I also really like the little attachment that comes with it for getting between the gums. It's just like being at the dentist and my teeth and gums felt amazing after.

First of all, I would like to thank ChickAdvisor for giving me the opportunity to review this product. I have not previously tried a rechargeable power toothbrush because it's pretty costly and I was doubtful on whether it could really deliver its promise of cleaning better than any other toothbrush including the Oral-B Spinbrush battery-powered toothbrush I was currently using. After using the Oral-B Pulsonic for almost 2 weeks, I would definitely spend the extra money to purchase this product.

    COMPONENTS AND FEATURES
The package comes with: a charging unit/ stand, a handle with an on/off button, a regular brush head, a precision tip brush head, and a manual.

The brush also has two settings. In addition to the CLEAN setting designed for brushing the teeth, it also comes with a SENSITIVE setting for cleaning sensitive areas such as in between teeth and massaging the gums

    THE ADVANTAGE
Its compact and slim design - The Oral-B Spinbrush I previously used comes with a fairly thick handle with a rubber grip allowing for a comfortable hold. I was a little concerned with the Pulsonic since it had a cylindrical plastic handle with no rubber grips. However, because the handle was slim and long, it actually allowed for a stronger grip and more precise maneuvers with the brush. Similarly, the slim brush heads also allowed easier brushing of the molars and more precise cleaning. In addition, the oscillating motion of the brush is superior to other power toothbrushes that only have brush heads that spin or vibrate back and forth. The whole unit takes up very little room, thus it's ideal for small spaces such as in an apartment or dorm room bathrooms. Similarly, its slim design makes it ideal to bring on travels.

It's rechargeable- You can leave the unit plugged in all the time and just place the handle back on the charging unit to always maintain a full battery. Unlike the battery-powered toothbrush I had used previously, I don't have to worry about buying extra replacement batteries, thus the Pulsonic is more environmentally friendly. The other con I found with battery-powered toothbrushes is that the vibrations are slowed with low battery power, thus resulting in reduced cleaning power. A full battery of the Pulsonic will also allow a whole week of regular brushing (2x/day), again making it ideal for travelling.

The Interchangeable Brush Heads - I like that it comes with two brush heads that are ideally designed for cleaning different parts of the mouth. The regular brush head comes with bristles shaped to countour around your teeth, thus it is able to clean better than flat brush heads.
The Precision Tip brush head is ideal for getting in between teeth and under the gums, again being able to clean better than other manual and power toothbrushes. For those who hate flossing, specially kids, this is an easier and gentler alternative. Cleaning with the Precision Tip brush head also fosters healthy gums.

Its Cleaning Power and The Timer- To meet the recommended 2-minute brush time, it is advised that each quadrant of the mouth is cleaned for 30 seconds. The Pulsonic gives a short pulse every 30 seconds, thus you will brush the appropriate amount each time.
I have been using the brush for about 2 weeks and have noticed the difference between using my battery-operated toothbrush and the Oral-B Pulsonic. The Pulsonic is a lot quieter and the vibrations are a lot more gentle on the teeth. Most importantly, it definitely cleans a lot better and I have noticed that my gums also look healthier after using it.

    THE CONS
The brush is designed for use in the bathroom (with its very compact, space-saver design and short wire) and you can plug it in and leave the unit on a bathroom counter. However, I don't find leaving toothbrushes in the bathroom sanitary and I wished the brush heads came with brush guards.
My other complaint would be the short wire. Not all my washrooms conveniently have an outlet by the counter and it would have been beneficial to have a longer wire.

The 30-second pulse is very subtle and is sometimes missed. It would have been better if it beeped instead of the short pulse. Lastly, while the slim and long handle allows for a comfortable grip, I would still prefer having a rubber grip around the handle because it does get slippery if it gets wet.

I received this product through the Product Review Club and absolutely LOVE it.

One of the best features are the timer feature. Every 30 sec it vibrates to remind you to move on to the next section of your teeth and at the end of 2 minutes it pulsates to suggest you finish brushing; how cool is that?

I also liked the light-weight feel of the brush and how it was made so it could easily reach the back teeth.

If you have never used an electronic toothbrush before, you will love the feel of it.

    A definite winner!

The first thing I noticed as I set up the toothbrush in its holder is the unsteadyness of the holder. The depth that the toothbrush sits inside its hole made it tipsy and hard to keep it upright. In fact, any little jostle would make it tip over. After charging it, I used both settings while brushing my teeth and found that its a great toothbrush. Mind you the head that came with it was a little small and narrow for my taste. I love how long the toothbrush keeps its charge. Makes it great for traveling as it will be ready for use even after a long trip. The powerfulness of the vibration doesn't diminish even when you are pressing down hard on the bristles. All in all, I would definately recommend this toothbrush.

Thanks chickadvisor for letting me try this great product. I've tried power toothbrushes in the past, and did not like them because of their bulkiness. However the pulsonic feels just like a normal toothbrush, with thousands of vibrations helping to clean the teeth. It feels like you've polished your teeth, as they feel more smooth than with normal brushing. Its very effective and I will definately reccomend this to my friends!

First it is not heavy, not too big or bulky. It only came with one head, but I am going to look at purchasing others. It is a bit pricey. I've never used an electic toothbrush, it's like being at the dentist when the polish. Feels good, weird until you get used to it. Has 2 speeds, so you can make adjustments to how you feel or until you're used to the higher speed. Use it with a toothpaste you love and the feeling after is terrific. I would definitely recommend it to anyone or any family. Easy enough to use whatever the age.

Since my first review disappeared, I'll try this again!

The first day I used this toothbrush, I went a little crazy with a 10-minute brushing session. It was just so darned much fun! The next day, I had a shorter brushing session, and by day three, my teeth were extremely sensitive to touch. I ended up having to take some time off from the brush. I have been using it once every couple of days, and I still have a good deal of tooth sensitivity afterward. I am hoping that will go away with time. I do, however, worry about what the extreme amount of vibration is doing to the nerves in my teeth.

The brush is designed well and feels good in the hand and mouth. As for the timer feature, I feel that there should be an option to turn it off. Two minutes doesn't feel like enough time to get a good cleaning for me, and I generally go through two cycles. I am sure this is contributing to my sensitivity with the brush, but 30 seconds per quadrant doesn't feel like nearly enough time.

I use the lowest setting and avoid using the small brush more than once a week -- it does a great job of cleaning around the front teeth, but it is harsh. It is extremely hard to get in and around the back teeth with the small brush. There are very few bristles on it to absorb the vibrations, and touching the plastic to tooth surfaces doesn't feel great!

Overall, I enjoy using the brush. I am hoping that my teeth become less sensitive to it, so I can enjoy using it more often. I am not 100% sure that it cleans better than a manual brush. The amount of discomfort I have after brushing tells me that it is either too harsh for my teeth or it is cleaning much better than my manual and my teeth will take some time to adjust. Time will tell!

I love the feel of the toothbrush. It is lightweight, and comfortable to use, not heavy and awkward like other electric toothbrushes. It does a great job of cleaning your teeth. You can notice the difference the first time you use it, and if you switch back to your manual brush you really notice the difference. I also like that it has the 2 different power settings, as there are times when I prefer the sensitive setting. I will definitely keep using it, and I would recommend this to friends, but I think I would tell them to look for a sale, as it is quite expensive for a toothbrush!

I would like to thank chick advisor for allowing me to test this product.

My first thoughts were how can this item clean my teeth like I went to the dentist...well low and behold it actually makes my teeth feel like they've been cleaned at the dentist...I've also noticed that as I continue using it the stains seems to be getting lighter....it actually cleans my teeth without any pain as my teeth are super sensitive...and the timer is a great feature...clearly I wasn't brushing for 2 minutes with my manual brush...

My overall experience was great....it was super easy to use and very effective on cleaning my teeth...I have officially thrown out my manual brush as I won't be going back to it...

The product's performance was top notch...there is no way my manual brush could do anything close to what this does...the timer is so handy...it helps me make sure I'm actually focusing on brushing my teeth...

I will definitely be purchasing this product for the rest of my family....I feel that all my family would greatly benefit from it...

The only downside I see is that it doesn't come in a child size...maybe they'll work on that...

Everyone should consider getting this product, especially if you want your teeth as clean as possible...just as if you went to the dentist...and if your like me you don't like going...

Just received my Oral-B Pulsonic Power toothbrush in the mail and tried it out. I've used other power toothbrushes in the past, but I like this one best. Easy to use, not too heavy and cleans really well. I love that there's a timer, that was a big plus. It also stays charged for a while so doesn't die out on you quickly.

The only negative is that I wish the brush rotated as well, instead of just vibrating/pulsing. That would give a better clean.
