90% OF CHICKS DIG IT
After switching to Redken color extend shampoo I notice that it removes product buildup better than some of my previous shampoos. Once a week I use it with Redken cleansing cream shampoo and it's amazing! My hair is left soft and clean and a little bit works up into a nice lather. I haven't really noticed a huge difference in extending my dyed colour. I love Redken and this is a shampoo I think i'll stick to for a little while.
I have been using Redkin's Color Extend Shampoo and Conditioner for a couple of years now. I have bleached-blond long hair that can be very dry at times because I also use a flat iron on it as it is very curly. This shampoo and conditioner keeps my hair soft and my color stays true longer. I can go longer in-between color appointments with my hairdresser. They also have a great products to help fight frizz and to help straighten your hair or to help curl your hair on days that I want to wear it curly. I would recommend this product to anyone.
i really like these products. I especially like the scent. It's nice and fresh. My hair hasn't been dyed in a while but i tried it out anyways. I love how my hair feels after using it. It's nice and silky yet it doesn't leave any residue. I find that i did have less fly-aways and hair felt more moisturized. I never knew that hair could be damaged by UV rays and these babies will definitely keep my hair protected. I think that if you dye your hair regularly, definitely give these a try.
I really like these. I got them from the product launch and have been testing them for a few weeks. They both smell delicious with top notes of apple pear and mandarin, middle notes of waterlilly, apricot and jasmine and a base of amber, sandlewood and musk... basically everything lovely you want your hair to smell like.
This line is designed to extend the life of your hair colour by using a fade resistent complex that also guards your hair against UVA and UVB rays, while keeping the hair hydrated.
At the launch I asked Robert Barbosa, Redken Session Stylist and Salon Escape Owner what we can do (aside from using color extending products) to ensure hair colour lasts longer. He suggests:
1. Protect your hair during the summer from UVA and UVB rays. Wear a hat, braid your hair or twist into a bun to limit exposure and use products that contain this protection.
2. Keep your hair hydrated and limit over heating. Those hot showers plus setting your blow dryer on hot all add to colour loss. Keep the temperature warm instead of hot.
3. Saturate your hair with water before you swim in a chlorinated pool or the ocean.
4. Time your hair colouring for the beginning of the summer. Your hair will naturally lighten from the sun and to do highlights after a summer of natural bleaching is more damaging.
5. Avoid alcohol in all of your hair care products. Many hairsprays and other styling agents use alcohol, which is drying.
Most importantly, go for regular trims. Especially if you are trying to grow your hair out, trims are essential to avoid split ends and keep the hair healthy.
The Color Extend products are launching this summer ('09). The Shampoo retails for $14.29 and the conditioner for $16.69.
I like them both and find they work well for my hair.
