Another tradition to look forward to.

I was first introduced to Starbuck's Chestnut Praline Frapp about 5 years ago and intantly fell in love! My heart broke in January when I learned that it was only offered seasonally. Every year about mid November it comes back and we get to meet again. With the slight hint of nuttiness it reminds me of Honey Nut Cherrios. That's the closest comparison I can give. It's not an overly sweet drink either, which I am grateful for. I love this product and the only thing I would change is to put it on the menu all year. And to have my husband wake me up with one every morning. But that's pushing it. Lol!

Starbucks Chestnut Praline Frappuccino

The Starbucks Chestnut Praline Frappuccino is the best holiday flavoured frappuccino in my opinion.
It is about $1-1.50 more than the other competitors in the fast food business so being addicted to them over the holidays adds up quickly but really, any of Starbucks coffees are worth the extra change with their excellent service and "custom" made beverages.

This particular coffee is a cold one but you can also get it hot (the latte) which is also devine.

The frappuccino is slushy ice and a flavour syrup that you can get extra pumps of if its not quite enough flavour and sweetness.

If you want your drink less creamy, request the drink with low fat or skim milk, and no whipped cream on top but I advise against it because it tops the delicious treat wonderfully.

Alas, you'll have to wait till next year to hopefully see this flavour available again.

Another favourite winter drink of mine is the Eggnog frappuccino/latte. The only thing I found was that its not as full of flavor as the bold Chestnut Praline when comparing the two without special requests.

When I really want to throw down the caffeine, Ill add a shot or two to my already caffinated order and for the kids and non-caffeine drinkers...you can get the frappuccinos without coffee at all!

During the rest of the year I enjoy looking out for more new flavours or I order the other flavours they have available on the regular daily menu.

***for the more "simpler types" that generally grab the nearest, most easy-to-order, regular roast coffee, you can easily feel overwhelmed with the fancy lingo, and the seemingly complicated specifics but it only seems that way because they are a specialty coffee place so you tell them what you like and the friendly staff will guide you in the right direction and soon enough....you'll be a pro and have a very handsome beverage in your hand!
