Great you've got time

If you have time to spare and like cooking things from scratch, then this home appliance is for you.
While this was a really cool tool to make homemade ice cream It only came with two recipes and the cooking process took most of my day. So , while I think this item is great as a Gift or a novelty item, I would not recommend it to your everyday family Because of the time it takes to create ice cream.

Great Machine!

The machine is super easy to use, it has 4 settings, gelato, ice cream, sorbet and frozen yogurt. Keeps it simple simple for the user. The difficulty comes in making sure you have all the ingredients and making sure that you freeze the bowl at least 24 hours before you use it. So it is not difficult but more you need to plan in advance when you are going to make something. It is not a spur of the moment treat type thing. That being said when we followed the instructions the sorbet came out great! Next to try is ice cream and frozen yogurt.

I only put Maybe to buy simply because as a working mom with 2 busy kids on the go, I don't always have the time to make sure I have all the ingredients, a store run may be needed and have them prepped (like in the case of the sorbet you have to set it out to thaw and mix a few hours before you make the sorbet). It is definitely more of a weekend treat with some planning.

The ice cream maker was a gifted review - i was very excited when I received it to make my own recipes and have fun with the kids but there is only 2 recipes in the book, and both are for vanilla icecream. I wish the company included a recipe for each option (gelato, icecream and yogurt)

My kids had a blast decorating their own home made ice cream. The machine is quiet and the process to make the vanilla ice cream was simple and quick. I love that it only has a few pieces to clean. The ice bucket has been washed and placed back into the freezer for our next batch!
