Breast Pumps Reviews

Unless breast-feeding your newborn is completely out of the question for you, a quality breast pump should be one of the first products you list on your baby shower gift registry.  For some, a breast pump is simply a tool of convenience to prepare feedings when you're away from baby.  For others who struggle with milk over- or underproduction, it can be a life saver.

Pumps are available in single or double models and in a range of power sources: electric, manual, and/or battery powered.  Look for a brand whose replacement parts are readily available.  Major brands include Philips Avent and Medela.

Lansinoh Thera-Pearl Breast Therapy

The TheraPearl heat pads provided so much relief while I nursing. Especially on days when I felt I had a clogged duct. The heat from the pad and a light massage helped me quite a bit.

I used the medela hospital grade pump and then bought this one for home. I found that this worked just as well and its a lot cheaper! I used it for my first 2 kids and then sold it. So i bought it again for baby number 3. It is nice being able to do 1 or both breasts at the same...
Medela Breast Pump Swing

This pump is fantastic. The different modes alowed me to put more or less pressure as some days I was a bit more sensitive I could not express as quick and on a strong mode, and this made the job so much easier.
Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breast Pump with Metro Bag

This oumo was extremely effective at first however after about 3 months of use it lost its suction. Medelae customer service was great and they were able to replace the pump but the second one also became less effective and lost suction after use.
Medela Breast Pump Accessory Set

I like Medela pump, very easy to use and take it on a go. I never used all the extra parts from accessory set as the ones that come with pump are pretty durable.
Avent Isis Manual Breast Pump

I bought this manual pump to pump out some extra breast milk to freeze. It's terrible! It hurts the nipples. I tried the automatic pump from the same brand and it's a way better. After a few minutes using the manual pump is impossible to keep pumping. I regretted spending so...
Medela Harmony Manual Breast Pump

I use this manual pump for my middle of the night feeds. After my baby has breastfed I pump to make sure I’m empty. This pump does better than my electric pump and pulls so much out! It feels sturdy and high quality. Pump parts are easy to clean and it’s light enough to use...
My First Years Double Electric Breast Pump

I bought this pump because I wasn't sure how often is actually pump and didn't want to pay a crazy amount. It's a good pump, it does the trick. Mine has a touch screen that you can adjust the suction and speed of the pumping. You can also record the volume of milk after each...
Lansinoh Double Electric Breast Pump - 1 Count

I love this pump. I have used other pumps on the past (three different brands) with each of my children and every single one of them has hurt me to the point of where I gave up pumping and nursing altogether. This pump is gentle on my nipples. I love the timer function on it...

I bought this pump because my baby was premature at birth thus I had to pump milk from the get go. The First Years Quiet Expressions Plus Double Breast Pump was a great pump for me. This Pump Is compact, portable, has a handle that was very useful during pump sessions, the...
NUK Manual Breast Pump

I was very disappointed in this pump and decided to eventually upgrade to a Mendela hand pump. This pump is fairly inexpensive and works like the average hand pump, but it doesn't last. It gave me a hand cramp after almost 1 minute of pumping. Then, after only about 10 uses, the...
Philips Avent Comfort Single Electric Breast Pump

This pump is a lifesaver! It helps me especially when I am full. I should have bought the double. But this one is better than having to use the manual.
Philips avent comfort double electric breast pump

I really enjoy this breast pump, I use it daily (about 6-8 times a day) because I exclusively express, as a preemie the latching was a struggle, so even though the hospital gave us the Medela to use for two weeks we went with the Avent instead. It's cushion pads add a more...
Philips Avent BPA Free Comfort Double Electric Breast Pump

As mentioned this pump is super easy to clean with not too many parts to take apart. However, I much prefer my medela with all of its parts because it actually works. I was so hopeful that the Philips Avent double electric would do the job since it's considerably cheaper than...
Ameda Purely Yours Ultra Breast Pump

My last baby was born severely prematurely. She was unable to breastfeed so I pumped... day and night.... every 1.5-2hours. It was exhausting. At the hospital they used an ameda breast pump and I loved it compared to my little handheld one I had at home, so I went out to...
Spectra S1 Breast Pump

I used Spectra 2 with my first born and loved it. It was great but hated being stuck to the wall while pumping. This pump allowed me to walk around the house while pumping and gave me a chance to still run after the kids or do chores at the same time.
Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump with Shoulder Bag

I have to pump because my baby has a tongue tie and he won't latch to me. This pump is a life saver! Only thing is I wish it was easier to pump hands free. It also comes with back up battery that requires double A's.
Spectra s2 breast pump

I am an exclusive pumper and between the S2 and the medela pump in style this definitely takes the cake! I love the advanced technology of it - timer, different options for suctions types and intensity, nightlight, massage/suction option - my only negative would be when...
