Every year we get one of those paper calendars, and they do the job. This chalkboard calendar, however, does more than that – it makes leaving messages and reminders fun!
I say this, as I love colour and being artistic, and being able to use chalk or chalk markers makes making reminders enjoyable and creative.
It also blends in with our décor in comparison with typical white paper calendars.
It comes rolled up, and easily unrolls. The material reminds me of MacTac (adhesive material that you use to cover school books or cupboard bottoms) and applies just the same.
I hung it in our basement office so it is easy to job down reminders as we think of them vs a sticky note, text message, or email that might get missed, lost, or forgotten about.
Hanging was simple – I drew two lines with a level, took off the backing, and lined up one side with the line, slowly pressing up and down from the left side to right side to help remove any bubbles. If any bubbles came up, I would just lift up the side and reapply the board. It took less than 5 minutes.
It can also be moved to different locations if you want to move it at a later date – the stickiness should stay with it for quite some time!
And it does not feel like a chalk board, but certainly takes chalk drawings quite easily.
Erasing the board is also simple. I tested it out first just by using one finger, and it came off in a few swoops. You can also use a dry board eraser or cloth as well – just nothing that will scratch the surface.
I have not used chalk pens (markers) on it, so I cannot attest to how well it is removed.
A chalk pen would definitely allow for more writing in each box – but for now, regular chalk seems to suit our needs (weekly and daily reminders and plans, along with my Beachbody Workout schedule in the fall and winter months).
Overall, I love the fun factor and multitude of uses this board will get over the years.
I received this product at a reduced or no cost for my fair and fabulous review ***
