Playards Reviews

Playards (a.k.a Playpens) is one of the important must-haves for new parents.  The simple styles are perfect as portable day beds for napping away from home or as a secure location for Junior when you need your hands free.  More deluxe models also include removable change tables and diaper storage for extra convenience.  Choose a playard with a compact folding design you can easily transport in your car trunk.

Our Tip: older toddlers can climb out of these playards or tip them on their side, so follow manufacturer guidelines and understand your child's gymnastic capabilities for maximum safety!

Some well-known playard manufacturers include Graco, Safety 1st, Cosco, and Eddie Bauer.

Graco Pack 'N' Play Bassinet and Play Yard
We got it as a gift when my baby was born. It is just the thing one needs when your baby is in the transition between crawling and walking. You can let the baby play inside without worrying about anything.

Baby Trend Play Yard - Supernova
I don't even know where to start with this product. We picked it out for 3 reasons, 1. It was black and would match whatever room we put it in. 2. It had the change table part included which was cool for me since we live in a large 2 story house and during my recovery walking...

Safety 1st Travel Ease LX Playard
My mother bought us this for our first baby this past year. We didn't really use it much at first, we co-slept, so the playard usually stayed packed away. When she was able to sit up, we would sometimes use it to put her in with her toys for a while, but it still usually...

Graco Pack 'n Play Playard with Newborn Napper
Bought this and have never been able to close it properly. It was too late to take it back once we realized that it didn't work. It is the most frustrating product ever!

Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Deluxe Play Yard
We bought this play yard for our 3rd grandson. They parents love it and all the nice designs on it. The changing table came in handy since my daughter in law couldn't bend down very far after giving birth to an almost 10 pound boy. They are still using it and love it.

Graco TotBlock Pack 'n Play Playard
Oh don't get me wrong, it works. But the first time a child is sick you cannot wash the inside of the mat to kill the germs and soaking the bleach to it or anything you do will not kill it. My daughter stayed sick almost constantly until I threw that thing away! Once they are...

Avalon playard
I know this one is pretty basic and looks "boring" but it's so handy. It allowed me to easily travel with it and I could add toys to it how ever I wanted. It was very convenient.

Chicco Lullaby LX Playard Fuego
After going through choices, nothing would add up to this playard. We have been using it for the past 8 months and could not be happier with the purchase. Its easy to set up and roomy, which might make it difficult to move between rooms without folding it (it may not fit the...

Safety 1st Travel Ease Elite Play Yard, Orion
After buying a cheap costco play yard for my first son. We decided to spend a little more on one that would not break or fall apart so easily. I can say that after 6 months of hard use from two big little boys, this one is still standing strong. I love the features it comes with...

Love this playpen! I used the newborn napper constantly for the first two months. It is soft and comfortable and I love how portable it is. I've used it on my bed, the couch and of course on the actual playpen. It is very easy to collapse and put away, I've done it on my own...
