We like the gate and it is not too heavy even though it is much wider than most gates. I love it because it's a tension gate, which means nothing screws into your walls or leaves permanent markings. I also love that it expands so wide. We couldn't function without this gate.

Can not be done with one hand!!! There is a button on the inside that needs to be pressed and one on the outside that needs to be pressed then slid across. The notches in the lock are rough and do not slide very easily no matter how had the 2 buttons are pressed.

Just my opinion, but when I see a parent using one of these in public I just cringe. I feel they are totally not necessary and ridiculous. If a parent can't keep an eye on their child without the use of one of these contraptions it is pretty sad indeed.
