A boost of energy for those long shifts

I was not familiar with NMN before I was sent AOR NMN-600 in exchange for my honest review and had to do a bit of reading first.

I’m a nurse, I work long shifts, and I’m at an age where my energy is a struggle. By the end of the day, especially after being on my feet for hours, I really feel it. Anything that fits easily into my busy routine and supports my health is something I’m open to.

From my research, NMN may help improve physical performance in short duration, low-resistance activities like walking for those of us in mid-life. This feels right for me, since most of my day is literally just walking nonstop from patient to patient.

Do you know what NMN-600 is?

I received AOR NMN-600 (30 capsules/600mg) for free from AOR and Butterly in exchange for my honest review. AOR is proudly Canadian!

NMN is a NAD+ precursor. NAD+ or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is a critical coenzyme found in every cell in the body that has been shown to enhance energy metabolism, improve mitochondrial metabolism and prevent age-linked changes in gene expression. Meaning it helps to initiate or assist in hundreds of metabolic reactions. Declining NAD+ levels are seen alongside a loss in the function of our cells, a natural function of aging. It helps in energy metabolism and tissue formulation, and in the improvement of physical performance in low-resistance short-duration exercise in middle aged adults. NMN is a direct NAD+ precursor, unlike the popular molecule Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) which must first be converted into NMN.

NMN is found naturally in immature soybean pods, legumes, cabbage, mushrooms and other fruits and vegetables. beta-NMN is water soluble and has good bioavailability and absorption, it is in the plasma within 30 minutes. In addition, unlike NR, NMN is more stable in liquids. This makes NMN the NAD+ boosting molecule of choice. The appropriate dose can depend on various factors including individual health status, age, weight, and the specific goals for taking the supplement. Research has shown that it helps to improve physical performance in low-resistance short-duration exercise (such as walking) in middle aged adults.

Unfortunately, I can not comment on the effectiveness of this product as I am still waiting to consult a medical practitioner due to the list of cautions as to whether I can take it. As well, unless a full bloodwork panel is completed, it is always difficult to say whether a supplement is indeed working, so my opinion would be subjective.

Metabolism Booster

I have been taking this product for about a month now and I actually really like it. I just take one capsule a day – sometimes with food, sometimes not – and I haven’t had any stomach issues at all, which is important for me. I mainly wanted it for metabolism support, and after about two weeks, I noticed I wasn’t feeling as hungry in the afternoons. I also like that it’s vegan and gluten-free, and the bottle is simple – 30 capsules, nothing complicated. Overall, it’s been a really positive addition for my health routine. I’m planning to keep using it.

I noticed improvement in my energy and stamina. I was able to walk and run longer and felt like I was able to perform strong when I amped up my speed. I didn't feel any downs later on and it stayed consistent. Improves physical performance

The capsules are easy to swallow. No after-burp of bad taste.
Ideal for individuals with higher dosing needs. Example: For older adults. Perhaps for those that walk as their only form of exercise. Helps improve physical performance.
Helps maintain NAD+ levels in the body which decline as we age.
The only thing I didn't like was the lack of further information on the bottle. In layman's terms on what it's actually good for. The bottle had alot of medical terms.
