Wonderfully smooth
When it comes to facial cleansers, sometimes things can get too harsh. But Aveeno Calm + Restore Nourishing Oat Facial Cleanser is a breath of decadence. Smooth and delicate, it doesn't irritate the skin. It goes on smooth and rinses away with no residue, leaving my face clean, refreshed, and feeling moisturised for the day without any harsh drying or tightness.
Gentle on skin needing TLC
I have used a lot of cleansers from oils to soaps and each can have its' benefits and drawbacks. I really liked this cleanser as it was very gentle, and did not strip away the natural oils and left the skin soft and supple. I almost did not need moisturizer after using this cleanser. The texture was interesting, not really a gel or a cream but somewhere in between. It creates a light foam that rinses off easily but does leave a slight feel of moisturizer, not oily, but that for me is good having skin that tends to be dry. Red patches were calmed as well. There is no scent which is good for sensitive skin, one less thing to irritate it. The color of the cleanser may put some people off as it is a beige, looks like the color of cooked oatmeal, where as a lot of cleansers are white or clear.
The one drawback I would say is that it does not really remove makeup that well.
Feels clean
It’s a great everyday cleanser to use especially for people with sensitive skin. After use your skin doesn’t feel tight or dry.
I also think more brands need to sell a refill bag its a lot better for the planet and easier to buy more of your favourite products and not run out.
Very gentle
I felt like I didn’t have enough time to try out this product however with that said I am happy with how it’s performed so far. It’s such a gentle cleanser which I appreciate with my sensitive skin so It’s true to its advertisement. I felt clean and not at all dry or tight after cleansing my face. I absolutely appreciate the 2x the refill in an easy to use pouch that is environmentally friendly with recycled plastic, so I’m looking forward to trying this product out more. Another thing I appreciate being that I am sensitive to scents this cleanser is fragrance free. I love the consistency of the cleanser as well as the fact that the cleanser is sulfate free, paraben free dye free, alcohol free and especially that it was tested on sensitive skin. Over all this is a really nice cleanser for those with sensitive skin.
Gentle Cleansing for Sensitive Skin
I got to try Aveeno Calm + Restore Nourishing Oat Facial Cleanser for free for my honest opinion. I like it so far. It does not dry out my skin but leaves it hydrated and calms the redness on my face. It's easy to use and does not lather so you may need to get used to it but it makes my skin feel great!
Great for dry skin
This face wash is great! I always loved aveeno products it's the only cream I use for my dry skin skin so when I had the chance to try the face wash I was so excited. It's so soothing and hydrating and perfect for my sensitive skin
Best as a light shower gel
I tested out the cleansing efficacy with some basic products: sunscreen and foundation. To start, I applied on my hands a moderately-moisturizing mineral sunscreen for sensitive skin. Following Aveeno's instructions to use slightly warm water, I did two ample rounds of massaging in and rinsing the cleanser. Afterwards, my hands looked and felt like almost none of the sunscreen had been removed.
I tried out the cleanser on my face where I had put on a few layers of lightweight, non-waterproof make-up. The cleanser didn't do anything to remove the make-up. I used some other products which did the job.
Next, I used the cleanser in the shower. On my body, I had some residual sunscreen that had been diluted with a light baby lotion upon application from a couple of days ago. The same sunscreen was applied undiluted, but very lightly, in patches on my face before the shower.
The cleanser hardly did anything to remove even the residual sunscreen from my body. Same for the face. There was almost but not quite an exfoliating effect, resulting in some rougher / raised skin. This may be a result of this very mild cleanser trying to counteract the bit of sunscreen clinging to the skin's surface.
Lastly, I used the cleanser as the second step to a double-cleanse. I'm not sure how well it worked as a cleanser, but I noticed the thick consistency made it hard to wash off. I needed to wipe off the product while rinsing, otherwise it would remain on the skin.
My verdict is that this is a truly mild cleanser best used in the shower for gently rinsing off natural body oils and sweat after waking or routine exercising. The force from a shower's downpour may be necessary for a proper rinse. On the plus side, it's a satisfyingly thick goop that coats the skin well. There's basically no exfoliation and there are no irritating actives.
It might be worth checking out if you have highly sensitive skin or if you're looking for an everyday, gentle-yet-indulgent shower experience.
Perfect Cleanser for Sensitive & Dry Skin
When it comes to skincare, Aveeno is a brand I have always trusted with my sensitive skin & I was looking for a hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic cleanser and when I tried this and found out that it is not only that but also fragrance-, paraben, alcohol-, dye-, sulfate-, and phthalate-free, I was absolutely sold! The face wash's texture is really soft and hydrating and once I wash it off , my skin feels even more hydrated even before I put any moisturiser on. I will give this product a 10/10
Gentle daily cleanser
I have very sensitive skin and this is my new favourite everyday cleanser. It cleans well without leaving my skin feeling super dry. I prefer to use this in the morning and leave it in my shower as part of my morning routine. I appreciate that it’s in a clear bottle so I have enough time to buy a refill for it before it’s completely used up.
Light & Non-abrasive, but something off.
I wanted to love this, as many years ago I broke out with old aveeno. Was hoping the new ones were better- this one was. This face wash seemed to work well. My skin is extremely sensitive and this did not give me ANY problems. The only con I have is that it felt as though it did not fully clean my face. My cleaners I use normally have a different feeling than with this one. Still will continue to use though, as I have problems with certain cleansers.
