Great product
This is a great option for sunscreen. It's pretty thick and it does level your skin a tad tacky but there isn't a strong scent and the effectiveness is great.
It is good except the pilling
This sunscreen is fragrance and paraben free. I love that It is reef friendly - no Oxybenzone or Octinoxate. It's a Mineral sunscreen so it does leave white cast (especially on dark skin). My kid didn't experience any kind of irritation so this is good for sensitive skin. It does pill a bit which can be little annoying while reapplying and also it takes quite a bit of rubbing to actually blend it into the skin.
Amazing!
I gave this sunscreen a 4 out of 5. It’s really gentle on the skin and great for kids. I used it during a sunny day and it protected well without causing any irritation. It rubs in better than other mineral sunscreens I've tried, though it still leaves a bit of a white cast at first. I like that it has SPF 50 and is safe for sensitive skin. I would recommend it for parents looking for a reliable sunscreen for their kids.
Sunny times , they work!

Gentle Protection That Works – Almost Perfect!
After trying what feels like every sunscreen on the market for my little ones, Blue Lizard Kids Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 has proven to be a standout choice—and one I’ll definitely continue using. While not quite perfect (hence the 4 stars), it offers a level of protection, peace of mind, and skin-friendly formulation that truly sets it apart from the crowd.
Let’s start with what it gets absolutely right:
This sunscreen is seriously effective. We live in a sunny climate and spend a lot of time outdoors, whether it's at the park, on nature walks, or at the beach. With Blue Lizard, I’ve noticed significantly less redness or sun irritation on my kids, even after several hours in direct sun. The SPF 50 coverage is no joke—it blocks out the harmful UV rays like a champ.
The mineral-based formula (zinc oxide and titanium dioxide) is a major win. I’m always cautious about what I put on my children’s skin, especially since my youngest has mild eczema. Blue Lizard hasn’t triggered any flare-ups, rashes, or irritation—just smooth application and reliable coverage. It’s also fragrance-free, which is a huge plus for anyone with scent sensitivities.
The packaging is brilliant and worth mentioning: the cap changes color in UV light—a clever feature that my kids actually enjoy. It’s both fun and functional, serving as a reminder to reapply when the sun’s out in full force.
Now, for the reasons it didn’t quite hit five stars:
The texture is quite thick, and while I understand that’s common with mineral sunscreens, it does take a bit of work to rub in completely. It can leave a white cast, especially on darker skin tones. It’s not terrible, and it fades with time, but it’s definitely noticeable at first. Also, this is not the most water-resistant formula—you really have to reapply after swimming or sweating, even if you feel like it’s still on.
Lastly, I wish the lotion came in a larger or more cost-effective size. We go through sunscreen fast, and while the product is high-quality, it’s on the pricier side for the amount you get.
Bottom line:
Blue Lizard Kids Mineral Sunscreen is one of the safest, most effective sunscreens I've used for my children. It’s gentle, non-irritating, and delivers reliable sun protection—qualities that matter most to any parent. While the application could be smoother and the price a bit lower, it’s still one of the best options out there. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, dermatologist-recommended sunscreen with clean ingredients and solid performance, this is absolutely worth trying.

Like the formula and ingredients
I like the safe formula of this sunscreen. It has just two ingredients Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide with the great UV protection SPF 50. When it absorbs in the skin, does not leave a white cast and the greasy residue which is great. It has a mild typical sunscreen smell that is not over powering.
Scent free mineral sunscreen.
I recently tried the Blue Lizard Kids mineral broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 50 sunscreen on my kids and am happy with the sun protection it offers.
It has a nice creamy texture to it, so it takes a little bit of rubbing to get the product to fully absorb into the skin.
I have noticed that there is no scent and I love that it is made without harsh chemicals. Plus it offers 80 minutes of water resistance so I don't have to worry about reapplying. The packaging is sturdy and practical making it easy to take along on our adventures.
My only downside to this product is that it leaves a white/blueish cast on the skin even when fully rubbed in; it is especially noticeable on darker skin tones.
Absorbs really well.
Nice sunscreen, creamy and absorbs easily. Sometimes mineral sunscreens leave a "ghost" look on the skin but not this one.
No noticable scent. Broad spectrum and water resistant.
This sunscreen has Blue Algae as a skincare ingredient, has anti-oxidant properties, and other cell protecting effects. Cute packaging with the lizard motif.
Summer sunscreen sorted
I like that it’s a mineral sunscreen comes on easily but does leave a white cast. Water resistant we’ve tried it in the pool and gives a good amount of protection. Although it was thick the kids didn’t find it too greasy at all. Overall a go for us!
No Residue
I love that this sunscreen goes on so smoothly and melts right in, it has great coverage and no chalky residue like other mineral sunscreens I've tried in the past. It feels light and gently and works well. I really liked it!
Really nice product!
This product went on quite nicely, not leaving behind any residue and rubbed in fairly quickly. It leaves a slight shine to your skin until it's completely absorbed, which makes it easier to see where you've already allied the product. There is also no harsh scent unlike some other sunscreens, so those with sensitivities should be able to use this product as well.
