I received DAP Alex Plus All Purpose Acrylic Latex Caulk Plus Silicone (300mL) in White for free from DAP and Butterly.com in exchange for my honest review.

About this product:

My thoughts:
As always, DAP Caulk products are easy to use and provide exceptional results!

I used this caulk to seal around my doors and windows just in time for the colder temperatures! I know it will help prevent cold air coming in and heat going out!

DAP Alex Plus Caulk provided great coverage with a smooth seal. I tend to always get caulking on my hands when smoothing out the bead and sometimes in places I don't want it, so I really appreciate the easy cleanup!

Overall, a great caulk to work with!

Stellar performance for white chaulk

Alex Plus All Purpose Acrylic Latex Caulk Plus Silicone for a few home improvement projects, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations in terms of performance and ease of use.

One of the standout features of this caulk is its versatility. It’s suitable for various applications, including sealing gaps around windows, doors, trim, and even in bathrooms and kitchens. The fact that it combines acrylic latex with silicone makes it an excellent choice – you get the ease of clean-up and paintability of latex, alongside the durability and water resistance of silicone.

The 300 mL size is quite manageable, providing an ample amount for multiple projects without being cumbersome. The white color is a perfect match for most standard surfaces, blending seamlessly and providing a polished look once dried.

Application was straightforward, thanks to its smooth consistency. It dispensed well from the tube, and I appreciated the controlled flow it offered, allowing for precision even in tight corners. It dries quickly, too! I found that I could paint over it within 30 minutes, which is a significant time-saver for those working on detailed projects.

Another aspect that impressed me was its elasticity. After curing, the caulk maintained a flexible seal, making it perfect for areas that might experience slight movement. Easy to use easy to clean

I was asked to try and review Dap Alex Plus Acrylic latex caulk for free in exchange for my honest review. First, this was MY first time using any type of caulking on my own, and I thought I'd be able to take a video and pictures easily while I did this...😆Not! it was pretty easy to do. I just didn't anticipate that it would start coming out of the tube as soon as I cut it open. Maybe I had too much pressure on the caulking gun? I'm no expert, that's for sure. Anyways, I quickly managed to fill some gaps around windows inside and then quickly managed to clean up the messiest parts where I put too much on the gaps. It was very easy to apply in even small amounts for the small gap under the windows, and I tidied it up with a wipe of my finger. Then, on to the next window. Overall, I'm impressed how easy this was to do.
Now I have an issue, and it requires me to research what to do with the empty tube. It is plastic and I don't think it's recyclable. There are no symbols on the tube, and i don't see any other instructions in the details, I don't like not knowing what to do. I'm guessing this will have to go to the hazardous waste day as it does have ingredients I think fall into those categories. I've searched the website and can't find an answer. A message is sent to the Chat on the website and hopefully I get an answer soon.
Overall, easy to use, easy to clean up. A nice look when I applied it, I hope it doesn't get yellow and aged looking, but it is paintable so that will be a bonus.
Thanks @butterly and @dap for this opportunity to try another product in the Dap lineup. The gaps look much better, and I'm sure the little bit more sealant will help keep more heat inside this winter.

Seals it

Easy to use, its time to winterise!

I've used different DAP sealants before and really liked them, my experience with Alex Plus was just as good. Since it's almost winter, I took this opportunity to seal up my windows, which had been feeling a bit draughty the previous year. I found it applied super smoothly and I particularly like that you can paint over it. I used a caulking gun and caulking tool to get a smooth finish and with those tools it performed great!

Great for beginners

I used this around my door and window frames to seal and prep for winter and it seems to work great! As someone who has never done caulking before, this was super beginning friendly. It's very easy to use, any mistake or excess can be cleaned up with just water and a rag. I've had no issues with cracking and it is paintable after 30 minutes which is amazing! It has hardly any odor and seems to be highly durable with a water-tight seal!

Easy to use product!

I found the Alex Plus Dap easy to use when I used it around the cracks in our kitchen window frame. It has a very low odour which is great and it was super easy to apply. Set time was good and I found it a great product for the price. It dried quickly and looks great.
