I wanted this to work...

I bought this on the recommendation of a Sephora staff when looking for a moisturizer for around my eyes that wouldn't be greasy on my acne prone combo skin. On first try I loved the silky application, it absorbed into my skin so well and left it feeling plump and hydrated without shiny or greasy. When used before make-up application I found it made my foundation go on super smooth without settling into my large pores and loved it so much I started using it daily.

The problem came about a week in when I started noticing little bumps forming under and to the sides of my eyes. At a routine Dr's visit I asked about the bumps and she told me they were called milia and caused by a skincare product I was using. I stopped using the FAB gel and they went away. Really disappointed as I loved this product but I didn't love the side effects.

Effective at making skin look matte but not minimizing pores

I find this product is pretty good at making my skin appear matte even though I have combination skin with highly oily and dry areas. I find it does not appear to minimize the size of my pores though.

Didn't live up to the hype

I see a lot of great reviews for this product, but I can honestly say it did not work for me. Weather wearing it alone or under make-up, even on cooler days when it was not humid, I did not find that this mattifying gel left me very matte at all. Oil still showed through my make-up, and without make-up, I was still very shiny throughout the day.

I would not recommend this product; if you have oily skin like me, this will not mattify your face. It only mattified my skin for maybe 10 minutes... however on the plus side, it didn't break me out!
