I had to buy a new hand blender cause my awesome braun multiquick hand blender was no good here with 110v. I did my homework, surfed the net, read the reviews and decided on a KitchenAid 5 Speed Hand Blender with couple attachments.
I cannot say it is all bad but it is really weak. Two simple things I tried `blending` with this. Tomato soup and a fresh basil sauce. We are talking about diced tomatoes and basil here, right? Although I work it at the 5th speed, this thing cannot make a perfectly smooth sauce. My Braun took me literally 30 secs to prepare the perfect basil sauce or blend the diced tomatoes in the broth of the soup.
KitchenAid Hand Blender comes with a whisker, a little chopper and 2 other attachments that I couldn`t completely understand cause they all do the same thing with the main blender attachment. The good thing about this appliance is its whisker. It is really handy to prepare chocolate milk or yogurt drink oh and pan cake batter. Braun`s whisker was really poorly designed, whatever I was trying to whisk did end up on the walls, no matter how deep the bowl was, lol I think it was fun though :) Anyways, if you are planning to buy something like this, give it a second thought. Go buy a reliable hand blender (you do not need all those things in this box cause they are not functional) and then get yourself a nice food processor. I bet both can cost you less then 100$ which is what I paid for this...
