I tried the "Walnut" shade.
For starters, tinted moisturizers are supposed to give you a lightweight, tinted glow to your face.
I did not expect full coverage from a tinted moisturizer, but I did expect it to stay on my face for a couple of hours.
What did it do? Slid off my face IMMEDIATELY after I stepped outside.
It was on the collar of my clothes (I dont even know how it got there! I only applied it to my face!) and hands.
This made my face oilier, I broke out, and needless to say I will NOT be repurchasing.
I went straight back to Sephora 2 weeks after I bought it (Why did I wait so long? I always like to give products a full 2 weeks to see their full or lackthereof effect)
Happy shopping!

to tint or not to tint
By now it should be crystal clear that I do not use foundation. I don't review it because I don't even want to try it.
That said, I recently started thinking about tinted moisturizer. Specifically, I was curious as to whether it could help even out skin tone. You see, I, like everyone else, wouldn't mind perfect looking skin. I have reminders of my many, many rashes and the occasional mother of all pimples. A spot here and a scar there. I've learned to live with them, in fact, you could say I embrace them. I've been blessed with parents who, however critical they are, always reminded me that being beautiful has nothing to do with looking perfect for anyone can feign pretty, but real beauty runs deep and flows amongsts flaws. That is a rough translation. Pretty poetic isn't it?
That said, there are rare occasions when I need to put forward a "perfect" face. In search of a foundation substitute, I played around with some tinted moisturizer. I've also tried something called BB cream. When I was in Asia a couple of years ago, it was EVERYWHERE. For more information on BB cream, go check out that girl I told you about yesterday. After further perusual, I decided I like her. Something about her is genuinely sweet. And oh, she uses foundation and BB cream.
Now introducing Laura's tinted moisturizer:

That's a dollop of nude. The colour may not be exactly right for me.
I will continue experimenting.

That's pretty neat. It won't mask imperfections, but it seems to give your skin a nice sheen. It blended well and left my skin hydrated. My analysis would be that the pigments reflect the light to minimize uneven skin tone.
I'm not entirely sold on schlepping this on my face everyday, or even once a month. I like fresh flesh so that every spot, scar, and indent can breathe free. But, I would use this for special occasions.
Like it.
N.B. I listed the price as Average because it's fairly costly.
I love this TM! Its is the best TM i have used, hands down. Flawless finish, easy application, it goes on so easily and blends into your skin perefectly. Coverage is good enough, again, it won't cover everything but it diffuses imperfections, making for a very natural look. My skin looks glowy, dewy yet incredibly natural. The only problem I have with this product would have to be the very steep price. Being a TM you can go thru it very fast and at 50$ a pop it can be a huge turn-off..
I bought this because of hype again.. haha call me a sucker. I treat this "moisturizer" as a sheer foundation and it does a pretty good job. I bought a BB cream to compare and this is far superior to me. Its very sheer and light but because I have super dry skin, I first apply my cetaphil spf 15 moisturizer first and put this on top. It's a great product if you want sheer coverage!
I have this in the Oil-Free version (with SPF, as the lady at Sephora told me), and I really love it!
It's light, and the coverage is exactly what I was looking for. I don't use this as a moisturizer, per se.. It serves the purpose of a light foundation for me.
The odd thing about this is that, whenever I use this, I get this strange, white film on my fingers -- I'm betting it's the SPF in this, but can't be sure. And if I'm right, no wonder they don't have the words SPF on the bottle; it doesn't even get on your skin! But no matter, just put on your regular sun protection moisturizer before hand, and you're good to go.
Oh, and I wish this were cheaper!!
Such a great product. No streaks, even coverage, tinted, oil free and it doesn't feel too heavy, good for summer as well. A nice light coverage that doesn't leave you looking like a cake. Definitely my favourite foundation.
the laura mercier tinted moisturizer works soooo well! it gives an even blended, natural looking coverage. enough to cover up some scars from past acne but not enough to cover up some of the darker scars. id have to say its more of a medium coverage tinted moisturizer. i bought this right after before my birthday in the beginning of February and it lasted til about the middle of march, though i probably use more than the recommend amount on my face.
The only downside to this is that it does cost almost $50, and i honestly, like most people, dont have that kind of money to blow on tinted moisturizer every few months.
I have been reading about this tinted moisturizer for quite sometime now and finally bit the pricey bullet and picked one up at a Sephora store in the US.
I am so happy with this product! I love it! It does exactly what it says it will do....gives a sheer, light tinted, flawless cover, with a spf of 20. I bought it in the oil free formula, in nude. It's so light, and so sheer, you can't tell your wearing it at all. It does not get oily and shiney by the end of the day either. You apply it with a one of LM's sponges, and it goes on so effortlessly, it blends extremely well, and you can build the coverage up as you go, but it will always remain sheer and light weight on your face.
I love that it provides a natural, sheer cover with an spf of 20. It sets nicely, and lasts the entire day without touch-ups with some settting powder. If you need more cover, or a heavier foundation I would not suggest this tinted moisturizer, it's simply too light and sheer for all over coverage.
I have worn it alone as my only daytime moisturizer, and I have put on a little extra moisturizer before applying it, and I don't end up with a shiny/oily face by mid-day.
I am hoping I can get this in Canada because I am hooked! Perfect Product award goes out for this one!
It tints, blends, & feels like there is nothing on. This is rare for hotter climates.
