Back From Vacation, Saved by Shea Butter

Just got back from vacation straight into the cold, dry Canadian air… boo to that.
But honestly? This cream totally saved me.
L'Occitane’s Soothing Karité Comfort Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Cream is exactly what it claims to be — ultra rich. After a week of sun and salty skin, my legs were screaming for moisture, and this stuff brought them right back to life. It soaked in beautifully without feeling greasy, and it seriously rehydrated my skin in just a couple of uses.
Bonus I didn’t expect:
It actually helped extend my tan. Instead of flaking off from dryness the moment I landed back home, my skin stayed smooth, soft, and glowy.
If you deal with Canadian winters (or just have skin that hates cold weather), this cream is honestly a lifesaver. Thick, comforting, hydrating — exactly what my post‑vacation skin needed.

So rich and nourishing

Looking for a beautiful, rich, nourishing cream you can use from three years and up and its formulated for sensitive skin meaning you can use it for the entire family.

With 25% shea butter it perfectly hydrates skin leaving it feeling so soft and smooth. Despite being rich it absorbs into the skin and doesnt feel greasy or heavy.

When it comes to skincare it seems the French always get it right, giving my skin exactly what it needs.

Rich and luxurious cream is a must-have for winter

I love everything I've ever tried from L'Occitane - they can do no wrong in my books when it comes to skincare and are the number one brand I turn to when my skin is begging for hydration. For starters, this new body cream from them is (no surprise here) made in France and uses their signature formula of shea butter. The ingredients list is short and sweet, which is what I like to see. The jar is made of a very heavy glass with a beautiful embossed metallic-look plastic cap. The packaging is designed so you can just buy a refill cream and pop it into the same glass jar when you've used up everything, making it more environmentally-friendly than other "one and done" packaging. The scent of the cream is a slight variation on the class L'Occitane shea butter fragrance - soft, gentle, and calming. Now for the real star power - the formula. This body cream somehow manages to be rich and luxurious in consistency, yet absorbs into the skin so smoothly and without heavy greasiness. I will say that my fingers were a bit greasy after application, but I just treated it as if I had applied hand cream and rubbed the excess into my fingers and the backs of my hands. My skin felt so supple and moisturized immediately after use, not to mention after a week of continued use - my winter skin was unrecognizable! Using this body cream really felt akin to a spa-like experience, especially in the harsh, dry winter conditions that can absolutely destroy perfectly healthy skin. The jar is also large enough (200mL) that it will easily last an entire winter season. This is definitely another hit from L'Occitane.

A little goes a long way

This body cream is thick and extremely moisturizing. I’m not normally a fan of body creams because I have oily skin, but sometimes my skin feels dry and tight in the winter. With this body cream, I find that a little product goes a long way, and I’ve barely made a dent in the jar since I started testing it. I started out using too much product, which took a long time to absorb and left a greasy feel, so I wasn’t loving it at first. 

Once I figured out I needed only a very small amount, it absorbed better and left my skin feeling soft and non-greasy. It smells great without being overpowering, and I find it works well as a hand cream as well, serving multiple purposes when my hands get overly dry.

Smells elegant!

This body cream smells sooo nice. It’s not that strongly scented but it also has a vanilla floral scent that I want lingering around me all the time. The jar it comes in also looks nice and the jar is big. Easy to open and close. It has a frosted glass look which looks elegant. The cream goes on my skin easy and not thick. It’s creamy and smooth and not oily. Great to put on throughout the day during my dry winters

Winter rescue!

I received L’Occitane Karité Comfort Ultra Rich Body Cream free for my honest review. I have very noticeable dry skin, especially in the winter time. The body cream is very rich and moisturizing and a little bit of product is enough for my entire body. I love that it absorbs into the skin very quickly, it's non-greasy or sticky, and also has a light fragrance. It will be my go-to body cream for this harsh winter season.
