This mascara does define the lashes, with some volume, but it leaves my lashes looking spidery after 2 coats. With one coat, my lashes just look wet, as opposed to having any sort of thickness or definition to them. This is a very natural mascara, and is marketed badly for volume. The staying power for this is ok, with no flaking, but the formula is also very thin.
This is my current favourite mascara. I find the formula (like most Marcelle mascaras) doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes--they don't get itchy or watery throughout the day. I have naturally long eyelashes, so this mascara is great for adding volume without clumps--the brush actually separates the lashes while adding volume. The price is super reasonable (especially because you can often get it in bonus packs with makeup remover or a second mascara), which is also a perk. I love this mascara and definitely recommend it!
I'm in love with Marcelle products in general. So I decided to try their Marcelle Volume Precision Mascara. I have enjoyed how the mascara makes my eyelashes extra black for a great evening look. The brush itself separates the eye ashes perfectly. I even found that it gave a slight curve to my lashes but not as defined as other brands.
I wear this mascara often and it doesn't leak off. So it's a great mascara to use in order to avoid raccoon eyes.
As most of us girls, sometimes we forget to take off our make-up at night. Although some brands you can get away with this, I wouldn't advise it for this mascara. The night I did I woke up with a sty.
I like the way that this mascara defines and separates my lashes. I have rarely experienced clumping with it either. It is perfect for my lower lashes as it never seems to smudge or flake no matter how long I have it on for. I have yet to experience brush transfer when applying as I usually get from over sized brushes like LashBlast.
I really like this mascara for casual days or work looks. I don't find it to be the most lengthening or volumizing formula even though it is nice and does a reasonable job at both. So for those days I want a little more oomph, I enjoy using this as a base coat for layering under more dramatic mascaras.
Price wise I feel that I got an excellent deal as its regular price hovers around $10/tube which for drug store is a little on the pricier end of the scale. I found a 2-pack at WalMart for $10.
Worth trying out just for the separation it gives lashes even if not the most volumizing - you can always layer as I do.
This for me, acted as an average mascara. There was some lengthening and volumizing, but in general, it worked as well as any product. My lashes started to droop around mid-day, as they always do (I have very straight lashes that never stay up!).
I would recommend this to people who just need an average mascara. It's not the worst out there, and will deliver it's promises.
I am very picky when it comes to mascara. I do NOT normally choose thickening mascara because I find it is too 'heavy' for my lashes and causes them to go 'flat' (I know that's hard to picture, but trust me it's not pretty). So when I saw this mascara, I was hesitant to try it due to the 'volume' part.
However, I like this product! I have been using it every day and it is nice and light but does a wonderful job lengthening my lashes. It does not clump and lasts all day. I call it a 'day' mascara....for night, I would prefer something a little more extreme. It does the trick for my daily wear and stays put! Just in case you're wondering, it's also hypo-allergenic!
FYI, Marcelle is also a Canadian company-but this mascara was made in Italy (I consider that a plus!)
I am on the fence about this product. My results were never consistent: sometimes it works miracles and my lashes were thick and dark while other times my lashes looked pretty much the same as they always do, just with a little extra clumpyness. Also it flakes like mad. The only thing that was consistent about this product was the pain the brush gave me. I guess the way I apply my mascara is too rough on the inner rim of my eyelid for this type of brush -- its hard and inflexible, much like a comb, and it always felt like it was scratching the inside rim of my eyelid. I could just not get used to it, nor could I find a way to apply it that did not feel uncomfortable. I don't think the inconsistent results and the mild pain are worth the price you pay for this mascara. (Wow, after writing this review I guess I'm not so on the fence after all eh?)
I received Marcelle Volume Precision Mascara as a gift. My lashes are skinny but incredibly long, so I decided to try it right away to make my skinny lashes more volumized. I wore it out for a couple hours, and when I came back home, I noticed it had left dark smudges under my eyes. This happens frequently with other mascaras, so I didn't think that much of it, even though the others last longer without smudging. I wore it another time, and when I brushed my eye softly with my hand, it flaked. It had only been, 5 or 10 minutes since I'd put it on, and this disappointed me.
It did, however, do a good job on separating and thickening the lashes. The brush had lots of bristles, which really helped in this process. The thing I hated about the brush was that it was flimsy and floppy, which made it a pain in the ass to put back in.
If you're willing have flaky mascara and smudges within half an hour in order to achieve separated, voluminous lashes, then go ahead and buy this. I'm not really sure how much it costs, as I got it as a gift. I don't recommend it, however. It's probably not worth your money.
I went to Shoppers Drugmart to buy Marcelle's Eye Makeup Remover (I have a review on it) about a week ago, and this came free with it. It was 11.95 for the make-up remover, but Marcelle's website says that the average cost for just the mascara is 11.95, so obviously I got an AMAZING deal.
At first I was not sure if I really liked it because the wand was really small and the application was kind of rough. Eventually I got a good handle on the wand and now I just love it! You can get to the roots of your lashes really really well, and the mascara doesn't clump. The wand seperates the lashes perfectly and it gives them a lot of volume and length, and I mean a lot. I like it just as much as Cover Girl's Lash Blast Mascara to be honest. The colour I have is black, and it is really black, and I like that. Some mascara's aren't true colour as they say they are. The packaging says, "High Definition Volume Precision" and they couldn't be more correct. :)
I haven't tried any other Marcelle makeup products, only their makeup remover, but I must say for a first product, even though it was basically free, I'm really pleased with this mascara and would definately buy it at full cost!
