I'm all about my lashes so i was super excited to try this. I really wish i could say it lived up to all the hype but i wasn't really impressed with the results. The vibrating brush didn't make a huge difference in the length of my lashes. I found that it just seemed to look clumpy instead. While i love the idea behind this, I still prefer their 'full n soft' mascara.

I am particular when it comes to mascara it is hard to find one that you like. I found application easy. However it did clump somewhat and i found it gave me average length. I didn't find the fact that it vibrated made it any better or effective i would probably prefer the non vibrating type. I also found a lot of mascara on the wand gave me too much product which ended up giving me messy clumped together lashes, i had to use a different mascara with a bigger fatter wand to de clump. All in all you have to stick with what works for you!

I am quite picky with my mascara's and have only ever found two that I really like! So, I was hesitant to try this and for good reasons. Unlike most others who've reviewed it, I found it didn't lengthen at all. It was very thick and clumpy and only made my eyelashes look fuller with no length really added. I was glad it didn't smell like the last mascara I tried, but that's the only good thing I have to say. I won't use it again unless I'm desperate and would definitely not recommend it to anyone. Sorry Maybelline :(

The concept of vibrating mascara is very cool, so i was really excited to try it out. The first application was a trial and error sort of deal. I poked myself in the eye a couple times, but by the 2nd day I had gotten the hang of it. Generally I would have to say that application was pretty easy, a monkey could probably do it. As for effectiveness, it did a good job of lengthening, separating and curling my short stubby lashes. I did get some clumps, but nothing different than your average mascara. That was the biggest con of this product, its average performance. Although application was different, i got the same results as my other mascaras for more money. I would say that it wouldn't worth spending $20 on unfortunately. Apply "normal" non battery- run mascara takes no more time or effort than this, and you don't have to worry about it short circuiting or it running of battery.

I would recommend this to anyone who's looking to try something new and doesn't mind spending more for it because it does what it says.

    The Packaging and Instructions:
The instructions are very easy to follow. Remove the plastic stick then press the button to make it vibrate and move it from the roots to the tips.

    Application:
The application for me was difficult the first time. I held the wand up to my lashes and wasn't pressing the button hard enough or in the right spot so it'd just stay there until I figured it out. Once I pressed the button correctly it was a surprise and I'd poke myself in the eye. This was a learning experience and I improved the second time around. The vibrations do feel a little weird but it's not that big of a deal. I only needed 1-2 coats.

    Results
I think the mascara quality is a little goopy and as a result I had clumps on my lashes. But that could also be because I kept the wand on my lashes for too long. It did a good job lengthening and separating my lashes but didn't add volume.

Overall I think this is better than some mascaras I've tried but I've also had better, which is why I gave it an average rating. I probably wouldn't buy this mascara again due to the clumping and the fact that I don't get as much volume as I'd like. In my mascara I would like no clumping, lengthening and volume and this one didn't give me all 3. The lengthening is better than some other mascaras that I've tried so if that's what you're mainly looking for I think this would be a good product for you.

First, a thank you to Chick Advisor for letting me try this out!

I was really excited to be picked and even more excited when I read on the package that this mascara was made by Maybelline's Define-A-Lash, as that is one of my favourite mascaras.

When I applied it, it made my lashes look pretty good. They were visibly longer and darker (which is good considering they are black to begin with) and a bit thicker (not a whole lot, but that isn't an issue for me). I had no problem with clumping or getting my lashes all stuck together and the overall look was nice. You could see that my lashes looked better, but it wasn't super obvious that I had make up on. Downside was that by the end of the day there was some flaking around my eye, but overall my mascara still looked okay.

To be honest though the vibrations of the brush were... different. I had never used a pulsating mascara and found it hard to get used to the first couple of uses. Now, I don't really mind it, but at first I was hard to get over having my eye vibrating. Other than that is was really simple to apply. I had no problems working the brush, except when I switched hands. I am right handed but when I put mascara on my left eye I use my left hand. I had trouble keeping my finger on the "on" button when using my left hand. Maybe if it had a permanent "on" feature?

I would get my friends to try it if they had a coupon or it was on sale, because it wasn't bad, but I don't think I would buy it (unless the sale price was really good) as I am happier with the non pulsating Maybelline Define-a-Lash (http://www.chickadvisor.com/item/maybelline-define-a-lash-volume-mascara.html)

My very first time trying to hold the wand while pressing the button to make it vibrate was quite awkward. I put the want to my lashes as explained on the package and pressed the button and the jolt made the wand hit my eyelashes and there was black smudges all over my lids. After I wiped off the mess I tried again on the other eye and it worked a bit better but the mascara didn't separate as well as I would have thought. My eyelashes did seem longer but the mascara seemed really thick. It made my lashes feel very heavy.
I would not go out and buy this next time. I'm sticking with my other brand.

When I first heard about these types of mascaras, I was very intrigued. But now that I have tried this one, I am a little disappointed.

    First off the pros:
-doesn't have that chemical smell that some of the recent Maybelline mascaras have had
-my lashes are soft and flexible (not stiff and spidery)
    -goes on smoothly

    Cons:
    - the main feature of the mascara (the vibration) didn't help at all in the application
    - had to apply more than 1 coat to cover all my lashes
    - I found the vibrations kind of irritating to my eyes
    - a bit challenging to hold down the button to make the wand vibrate and apply at the same time

Overall, I think this is an interesting idea, but I think it needs more work to make it worth the almost $20 price tag.

I was so excited when Chick Advisor sent me the Pulse Perfection to try out! I love trying new kinds of makeup and mascara is a staple in my every day life.
It was easy to use and follow the instructions...no problem there....but when I put the vibrating wand to my eyelashes my eyes instantly watered as the vibration 'tickled' my eyes which are very sensitive to begin with. So after that first try I wiped away the 'tears' and tried again. It still tickled and took a few seconds to get used to. I liked the effect it had on my top lashes but I found it too heavy of an application on my bottom lashes (which some people may like).

The packaging claims it has 7 MUST haves of mascara.

    1) Luscious Thickness (I definitely have had mascaras that made my lashes look a lot thicker...this one didn't really make the grade when it came to thickness)

    2) Luxurious Length (The length was definitely there and the vibrations extended my lashes nicely)

    3) Smooth Separation (Definitely separated my lashes nicely without sticking them together!)

    4) Intense Colour (I used Blackest Black...the colour was great..but no different than other mascaras I use)

    5) Shapley Curve (I still found I had to use my eyelash curler first in order to get my eyelashes curvy)

    6) Healty Luster (ummmm I guess....)

    7) Zero Clumps (defintiely no clumping. My lashes stayed nicely separated)

So would I buy this in a store?...probably not, but I'm glad I got the chance to try it. I didn't find this made my lashes stand out and I've definitely used mascaras that did a better job. I personally like thick big lashes...this basically just lengthed them but no thickness...that's my main beef with the mascara. The vibration sounds like a good idea...but I don't think it's anything special another lash definining mascara couldn't do.
