I tried out the Very Black colour and it definitely made my eyelashes look darker than ever. My lashes looked long (but not spider leg-ish), there could have been a little bit more separation and spacing of lashes but it really wasn't that bad and I thought my lashes looked good. It was generally easy to use and control though it may feel a bit awkward at first. I do wish I didn't have to hold down the vibrating button and rather I could just click it on and then click it to turn it off (like some razors), that would probably make things a little easier but oh well. When removing the wand from the tube I didn't get a glob of product coming out with the brush (as it sometimes does with other products) which was nice. The removal of it was also pretty simple which is always a plus.
Probably one of the only cons is the price. Now I got it for free at an event that I went to not knowing the price, now I found out its about $20 CAD, now I like the product but I just don't think I'd ever pay that much for a mascara, but that's just personal. Other than that I was pleased with the results.
I didn’t like it. Period.
Just like the Lancôme one, I don’t get the vibrating part. I don’t find it does anything. The brush is bad, sparse bristles that deliver too much product making it hard to build volume or length. The bristles are also very harsh, I find they hurt my eyelids. It’s hard to reach those corner lashes. It lasts okay, I didn’t notice any flakiness and comes off fairly easily.
Don’t expect any dramatic results. There are much better products out there for the same price that give way better results.
i think that this mascara is amazeing i bought it 1 month ago and it has lasted a long time. i find that it makes your lashes long and bold .
I was skeptical purchasing this mascara, because the cost was higher than any other mascara I had bought. However, after using it I am pleased to say that it was well worth the cost. This mascara gives amazing definition to your lashes, making them look fuller and also gives them length. I highly recommend this mascara for anyone who has had problems with clumps, as this product left no clumps at all. It was easy to use, though the wand is longer than I was used to.
Yes, like everyone says in reviews, this mascara clumps like nobody's business. But do you know why I gave a 5 star rating? Because anyone who has short bottom lashes will know what a pain it is to try and apply mascara on bottom lashes to give our eyelashes a nice even look, and have the mascara smudge and spread. It is awful.
But with this mascara, all you need to do is place the wand on the bottom lashes, and press the vibrate button, take it off, and voila! You have wonderful mascara-coated bottom lashes. The wand is skinny enough to not get product on my eyes, and the clumpiness of the product is a good way to get defined bottom lashes.
This has become my HG.
If you've used Lancome's pricey version, Oscillation, then you'll probably love Maybelline's cheaper version. It's exactly the same except for the logo. Now, I really fell in love with Lancome's because of the faux lash effect it gave me. It had really good lift and volume plus did not smudge or smear. Maybelline's I found gave the same effect but the original and the waterproof version both smeared on me. Now, I know if you have oily skin waterproof mascara will still smear. But the few times I wore it, it wasn't hot but rainy and it still smeared underneath my eyes! I didn't even know until one of my co-workers asked me what the black stuff was under my eyes. very embarrassing! d
Love the effect it gave, the cheaper price, but I still prefer the Lancome formula better for the non-smudge factor. Those of you that don't smudge/smear won't have a problem with that though. :)
Nice mascara! I received this as part of the swag bag from the ShopCrawl - (thanks Ali)! It is a very cool product, and I am so glad I got to try it out.
In terms of the vibrating effect - it is a neat feeling, at first it tickled, but after a few seconds I got used to it! I am not entirely sure how effective the vibrating actually is, vs. manually applying the mascara. I tried it out with and without the vibration and mascara seemed to apply equally as well.
That being sad - I am very happy with how it goes on! Lengthening and volumizing and had a very rich black colour.
I am also happy with the waterproof factor - was caught in a huge rainstorm, and the mascara held its own! No smudging or running down my face whatsoever!
I would purchase this again.
The mascara wand feels like a massage for your eyelids. I like the vibration and unlike some of you, it didn't make my eyes water. I don't have sensitive eyes, though. I thought it was really fun to use and I was pleased with the results. I got a waterproof version of this from the shop crawl and it certainly stays put! I am planning to try this wand with another fave Maybelline mascara called lash stylist. There is something about that formula that is magical and I think that combined with the pulse perfection brush would be spectacular. Pulse perfection is a good bet if you want a luxury product for less than the other ones like it on the market.
I got this mascara free through work, and I was skeptical about the necessity of a motorized brush. How hard is it to wiggle the wand a little? But I'm glad I tried it, as I really like it. I'm surprised that some people find it shaves time off their mascara routine, as it takes me a little longer to apply than other mascaras, but the results are worth it.
I have longish, very straight lashes, so curling them first is a must. If you're worried about the brush leaping to life when you hit the button, turn it on first and then slowly nestle it into the base of your lashes. Then sweep upwards, going at the pace that best deposits the amount of product you want to apply. I usually go fairly quickly and do several sweeps while the mascara is still wet, ending with a tiny backwards flick over the tips of my eyelashes from behind (it adds a little extra 'pop' to the look).
For me, the result is dramatic enough that I've been skipping eye shadow or liner, which is a nice option during the summer months. I don't find that wet-to-dry formulas like this flake or smudge, and this holds up really well -- throughout the work day, including a lunctime workout and rinse off at the gym. Surprisingly, it also comes off really easily with warm water and face cleanser at night.
My only complaint is the price, since I'm a firm believer that you should be able to save on mascara and still look good. I am impressed, though, so maybe I'll have to do my part to help the economy along when this mascara runs out...
I have to say that I found this product a bit difficult to use at first...trying to apply the mascara while holding down the button was a bit tricky. But once you get the hang of it its pretty neat and fast to apply. The first time I applied it, it made my lashes look great...very long and full...but the second time not so much, maybe thats cause I was having a hard time with the button. Overall, its a good product and I recommend trying it.
